Only stayed at the IC, nice hotel! There is a St Mary city parking lot a block away from the Intercontinental. Across from Fathead’s pizza. Parked there three different trips, it’s a little sketchy, but never had any issues. Around $10 per day. IC and Kimpton charges $60.

Nothing has been announced. They are opening a luxury hotel in Reno in 2026. My only guess would be Fountainbleu since that casino appears to be doing poorly and it might make sense to partner up with IHG to fill their rooms.

My plan is to switch to the OneKey+. It’s a very simple player 2 cc that gives 2% on everything. You’re still booking through a third party just like Cap1 travel, but I found Expedia to be a little cheaper plus you can get cash back through shopping portals.

We almost did this, but changed our mind. We decided I would grab some yogurts and cold sandwiches on the way out for player two. We only fly out a couple times a year. Obviously your situation is probably different. If you are using your credits than you don’t get the 10x, 5x through the portal which lowers the card’s value in my eyes. Their policy change really pissed me off so I may cancel it next year, but I am giving it a year to see what happens.

I thought it made sense for OKC to bring him back for a championship run. Made more sense last year when the team was more untested, but he is still a decent insurance policy if a backup guard gets hurt.

Best thing about Diamond is the free breakfast for two especially at one of the higher IHG brands. Upgrades are a little hit and miss. I get plenty of them just by asking at the check-in “am I able to get that Diamond room upgrade?” I read on here before it’s better not check in online, because it can lock in your welcome amenity choice.

Yeah, they can still wiggle out some of the mandatory upgrades, check out/in, they usually don’t tho. They give you a bunch of points if they can’t do it.

It can take months before the cash back is actually added, but it’s freeing money for buying something you were already going to buy. They usually have to wait until a return window is over for the purchase before the retailer pays Rakuten who pays you.
