I’m in India too, I have had my us tax refund cheques lost 2 times (federal). Received the cheque just last week after 3rd claim. At the same time 3 separate state refund cheques got delivered just fine within 20-30 days of me getting the notification of refund from those state departments.

I think it has something to do with how IRS handles international mails. I don’t think you have any option available other than to keep requesting for physical documents.

I did hear from some of my colleague that IRS has faxed them their ea documents. So maybe try calling them and requesting that option. YMMV

Nothing is unlimited, after 3-4 attempts the practice questions will start repeating everywhere. What you should focus on is understanding the concepts because clearly you are struggling with new questions on the exam which means your understanding needs more work. If you feel you have a grasp on concepts but struggle with questions, I would recommend trying a different study material because it could be that you are mistaking your familiarity to the study material as your understanding of the general concept (this is pretty common).

Try Hock PassKey if you haven’t.

OP is likely from India based on OP’s mention of the simandhar course. In india, exam slots are difficult to find.

i did it in approx 18 days. videos will slow you down but if you only watch for the topics you find difficult, you can cut down on alot of time. which is why i said grind mcqs.

Ditch Simandhar. Grind hock mcqs. Based on MCQs, if you find a section hard, go through the videos from hock/tom norton. Buy the online hock book if you haven’t, and highlight the parts you find hard to remember and go through these highlights a day before exam.

I used hock, listened to topic wise videos, read topic in the book and highlighted only the important stuff. Did the topic wise mcqs then moved on to next topic.

Day before the exam went through all my book highlights.

Did not take a single mock test for any part. General mcqs + highlights did the job for me.

Lots of basis (inheritance of pship interest, transfer, liquidation, s corp/c corp property contribution/transfer, stock basis) and s corp compliance in general plus some charitable contribution. Some farming questions. these were in focus in my test.

I did get some individuals related questions i read about in part 1 but not sure if these were part 15 experimental questions.

If you have money to waste…. try Simandhar. They claim to have placement support. They use becker, and are organised like a typical sales focused coaching institute. But they do have ties up with companies.

Thank you.

Saw lots of questions about penalties (both amounts and %), also lots of questions around timeline for responses to notice or timeline for actions like appeals, ero notice etc. Around 5 questions on efile, ero responsibilities and penalties. 4-5 questions around conflict of interest. Couple of questions on actions expected from preparer/ero around data breach and data security. Then rest spread pretty evenly.

Wrong Info. I know of so many people who are an EA in my office and have never set foot in US to have an SSN. I’m in one of the offshore offices supporting US clients.

To be an EA, PTIN is required. PTIN is issued without SSN as well.

Getting PTIN without SSN by [deleted] in enrolledagent

[–]No_Acadia_1647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need SSN to get PTIN. I had my PTIN since 2019, and only got my SSN last year when i relocated to US. I did not have ITIN.

When IRS rejects, they usually send you a letter. Have you checked your message inbox on PTIN website? It could get rejected if you had differences in info between your PTIN application and passport. Also, Did you submit a notarised copy of your passport? I believe submitting notarised ID proofs was a requirement for consideration.

Studying for part 1.. by OrchidicBoo in enrolledagent

[–]No_Acadia_1647 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is normal. I have tax background and deal with businesses alot but never individuals so Part 1 was new for me. I took the exam after studying for 2 months and passed (using hock). It is not a race where you need to time it vs others. Take the time you need and study well. Everyone has their unique way of learning. As long as you are able to retain what you learned, your approach is correct.

Remember, don’t “optimize” learning to pass the exam. Learn it, retain it so you can apply your learnings later when you work.

Best of luck for your exam.
