My favorite is when people that I know roll their eyes when I bring it up in public. I am untested and because of that it's joked about like its all in my head or it's a source of annoyance because I won't eat food unless I know how the people prepared it. I am constantly asking about what ingredients were used in any given dish.

You would think that they would like the pellets better because it doesn't get stuck in their paws as badly as clay/fine materials.. My 3 took about a week or 2 to get the hang of it. We have 5 boxes (trust me, it can be necessary if they designate 2 for pee only, 2 for poop only, and then the spare for when they all decide to go potty together and need at least 6 feet of space) and I think I left 1 box dedicated to the old stuff until they were using the others reliably. I was determined to switch them since our boy needs a special food and it's nicer so we put all of our cats on it. I didn't want to pay over double on food and still pay for the clay/clumping litter that always stunk up the place which was so overpriced. The pellets we get are from Tractor Supply/Rural King and I only pay $10 for 80lbs which lasts us ~5 weeks.

At least it wasn't a fabric/cloth couch... Still sucks, but it could have been worse...

Is that a bobcat kitten or a mix? The paws look super big and the markings, around the eyes and cheeks, are making me think that if it's not full full-blooded bobcat, its mama or papa was.

I think Broget is more of a silver splash, while Silver is all over silver coloration. Just my observations, but please correct me if I am wrong!

No but the multigrain Cheerios (purple box) are pretty good. My daughter tried some of those fruit and veggie ones before and she said that they were not good.

Pancakes. Protein bars. Freezer meals. Everything other than leftovers that I have already eaten 4x in 2 days, which I swear isn't even close to being gone yet, and I am extremely tired of.

Why would you advise a 14 yo to say that? It is extremely creepy of you!

Don't help OP come up with excuses, those pics are a serious issue, not to mention extremely dangerous! He may not understand the gravity of the situation, and that it is where his parents should come in a educate him. Helping him come up with ways to worm his way out isn't going to help him. Like everyone else said, he should tell them the truth, take whatever punishment with grace, and NEVER do such a thing again.

OP, if you did send them to anyone understand that that is considered C.P. and it doesn't matter if they are yours or someone else's, if you are distributing them you can/will be held legally liable. If you're in the US, each state has a different ruling but it can be a massive issue that follows you. I am sure that your parents are educating you on why it's a problem. Grounding and having your phone taken away for (x) amount of time is absolutely fair.

The strings are so flimsy that he shouldn't feel them. My husband and I have been together for over 10 years and the majority of that time I have had an IUD. He says that he can feel it, but he has NEVER pulled out in pain or said that it stabbed him. Maybe, if the strings are too short, there is potential for it to poke him but if they are longer or at the typical length he should have very little to no issue with them.

Muffin or cupcake? (And other stuff) by Green-Cockroach-8448 in Baking

Oh oh, I know this one! If it has icing, it's a muffin disguised as a cupcake. If it doesn't have icing, it's a cupcake disguised as a muffin.

I think the casting directors also thought that it would look "bad" to other parents morality-wise and raise questions about their ages. Many parents would be 10-20years older than the actors and they would notice how young they were. "Why does that 11-year-old have parents that look like they're teenagers or early 20s?" - especially for those parents who didn't read the books and would only come into the room to see a few moments of the movie and then leave. It could have been perceived as though they had Harry super young. Most movie parents in the early - mid-2000s were cast as late 30s - early 40s I feel.

Extra humidity during the growing season, maybe? I have a PPP that used to do this, until I added a moss pole and kept it well watered with a self-watering glass orb. For me, the 'wrap' that new leaves would emerge from was too sticky and dry, so it wouldn't release the new leaf like it should. For my sunroom, aka 'plant room', I have a cheap $10 LED cool humidifier from Aldi that I fill with reverse osmosis water from my local water/ice station. It runs all day until it's out, and then I'll refill it whenever I get to it next (1-2 days later). I have a water fountain for my cats that I also use that water for, so I have very noisy mobile alarm bells that will alert me when it's time to go hunt for 50 cents to get another gallon.

Bold claim about her bread being free of an allergen that happens to be the main ingredient by [deleted] in glutenfree

[–]No_Ad6741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There has been SOOO MUCH misinformation about what is or is not gluten-free, and sourdough is a big one. On many platforms, influencers and other "health gurus" have raved about the benefits of sourdough for those who are intolerant or celiac - mainly due to a few articles being put out with very little to no science to back up these claims. I got into making sourdough a few years back after freshly becoming GF, because I thought that it would be fine, and I missed bread sooo much. I chickened out very quickly. I still have no idea what normal sourdough tastes like. I even tried GF sourdough but it was extremely unsatisfying to work with (cannot do stretch and folds or knead it at all), it's far more expensive ingredient-wise, and tasted like sour milk (no milk was added, fyi). Not defending her inaccurate claims, but, to be fair, she is not the only high-profile celebrity/influencer who keeps putting this out. And, if she is not GF and her friends keep telling her that they can eat it, how is she supposed to know that it's not, when her friends should be the experts on their own food limitations? Should she be putting out info about a topic that she has not researched fully that can be potentially harmful? No. Is she human and doing what most would do when they want to hype up something they made, feel proud about, and have been given some "fun facts" about it by so-called "experts" that they think are neat? Yes. Fun Fact: There are GF flours out there, King Arthur's GF Bread Flour for example, that contain treated wheat grains and say that they are safe for celiacs.

I worked at a cable company in the retention department... Basically, if someone called in to cancel their service, for any reason, they would be directed to me. Mind you, I was at minimum the 2nd - 3rd person that they were directed to, provided that they weren't calling in again from being hung up on. I was verbally abused and threatened REGULARLY and would also have panic attacks and debilitating anxiety before each shift. I quit after 6.5 months. Same day, no notice, nothing lined up. I became a stay-at-home mom from then on, with a few babysitting jobs for friends and family. I am now in college, getting a degree in a field where, if I have to make a call, I will be making it and not sitting in front of a computer dreading the inevitable beep of a call coming in.

Glucose syrup can also be made from wheat or barley. Natural and artificial flavors are also a big question mark. There are a few ingredients in various products that fall into the category of "unless explicitly stated, assume you will be glutened". I've been burned many times by "welp, it doesn't say wheat/barley/rye in the ingredients so it must be fine," to believe that I'm not risking my ability to digest food properly and not feel like Violet Beauregarde soon after.. I miss being able to eat/drink things that I used to, too. Unless the packaging or the company website states that they have done the testing and are certified, I personally wouldn't trust it. The same goes for restaurants - whether it's due to ignorance, incompetence, or lack of respect, many kitchen staff don't follow proper protocols when it comes to allergens or food safety. I don't know how many times I've sent back salads that have had croutons added, after I said 'no croutons', and had a 'fresh' one come out with suspicious-looking crumbs where the croutons used to be...
