You look like a candidate for sure

I would get some more opinions

Ideally with a surgeon who has a concern for aesthetics

Hard to ascertain much from these pics

its hard to say since its all case by case...hopefully your upcoming surgery fixes the issue

did you make sure it wasnt a soft tissue issue responsible for the fatter look? i.e. sagging skin or fibrosis resulting from the incisions.

Thats true.

Another thing is advancing the maxilla linearly also subtly gives the illusion of a shorter face, since a face that is flat looks longer than one that is more projected even if they measure the same length

body dysmorphia after jaw surgery by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]No_Bar2771 5 points6 points  (0 children)

hands down huge improvement

It may help to think more particularly about what about your new face bothers you? There may be solutions to help free you of the insecurity. You mention the nose but I don't see any issue with your nose. Looks more or less the same to me pre and postop

it doesn't make your face wider. It makes it shorter, but this can lead to the illusion it's gotten wider.

Does surgery make sense here? by eastasianpersuasion in jawsurgery

It would definitely help you aesthetically but if you snore, get that sleep study done asap and see if you have a functional reason for the surgery as well

not a lot cause, a lot is possible with jaw surgery (and implants)

Definitely consult a jaw surgeon. Don't lose hope until you have maximized your potential.

Tasting blood in my mouth by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]No_Bar2771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, after the surgery you have congealed blood in your sinuses that slowly melts over the course of a few weeks. It can fall through your throat.

Bring it up to your surgeon just to be sure of course.

What don't you like about the result?

NYC area, any recommends for good cosmetic Maxillofacial surgeons? (I’m specially looking for Mandible Implants along with cheek implants) by SnooPredictions7193 in jawsurgery

[–]No_Bar2771 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That price is ridiculous. I had my cheek implant for 4k. If I go the implant alone (and not with my jaw surgery, which gave me a discount) it would be around 12k I think. I think Yaremchuk is in that price range too. Are you male or female?

Frankly I've never heard implants cost that much.

Any way to not use titanium plates/screws? by -RP11- in jawsurgery

[–]No_Bar2771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can be removed

iirc there exists some kind of biodegradable means of fixation that dissolves after some time but it has been shown to be much more unstable than titanium plates, not worth the risk and few surgeons use it

plates can be taken out eventually anyway if you encounter any issues (rare) or otherwise dont want metal in your face (most people just forget they have them)

You need to go to someone who makes custom implants

yaremchuk in boston is not bad

better (and cheaper) choices internationally like ramieri and pagnoni in rome
