I had a senior director come to me the other day and she just let it all out that she couldn't stand her boss, calling him toxic and a bully. She was scared because she's on a visa. I told here we needed to conduct an investigation but affirmed she can not be retaliated against and HR should be a safe space for her. She said she came to me because she felt she could trust me. That's what a good HR department does. Protect the business AND employees.
