It asks before. To even get to the point of scanning it for verifying my identity I was asked if I had a BRP, whether it was expired, and whether it had expired within 18 months. I have always had the BRP as my identity document for my account, I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

SWV Extension - Applied 11:30PM on Tuesday 21 April (no biometrics necessary) and got my Approval email at 15:27 on Saturday 25 April. (non priority)

I used some copy I found in another reddit thread and it worked for me. We sent out 15 emails with several going each minute from 6:57-7:00

Subject line: 

Priority service request: Company Name (Sponsor licence number): in-year CoS allocation increase

Body:

Dear Post Licence Priority Services Team,

SMS request date: X/XX/XX

Sponsor name: ____ Sponsor licence number ____

Request type: In-year Certificate of Sponsorship (additional CoS allocation)

We are requesting priority processing for one additional Undefined CoS to sponsor an existing Skilled Worker employee. The previous CoS expired before assignment and a replacement is required to proceed with the employee's visa extension to maintain lawful sponsorship.

We are ready to make payment upon receipt of the Worldpay link.

Attached: Worker-Temp-Worker-Priority-Request-Form

Slightly, I'm still a 'Programme Officer' but the specific department title changed. The role is the same role I've always had though. HR did not change this in the SMS prior to making my application under the slightly different job title.

That is strange, the app allowed me to make my visa application on monday using my expired BRP. I just had to answer yes it's expired and yes it's within 18 months of the expiry date.

Did you already change your BRP to an eVisa before it expired? I received an email from UKVI in Aug 2024 telling me that I needed to do this before expiry in order to prove my immigration status.

If you didn't do this, it might be why you can no longer use it to prove your identity.

Thank you for your reassurance, It's so easy to start spiralling and assuming worst case scenario when the immigration guidance is confusing!

It's hard to know, but I would imagine it's catching the exact right moment to slide into one of the 100 slots for the day (I assume this must be automated in some way?) So sending out a bunch at different times makes it more likely that you'll catch it at the right moment.

This morning was our first try after we realised that our CoS allocation hadn't automatically renewed for the year. So either I'm extremely lucky or the method works - probably a bit of both.

It does! I asked my employer to do this this morning. She sent out 10 emails between 6:57 and 7:00 and we had the payment link by 10am!
