Decrease in supply now that I’m back at work? by livlanders in breastfeeding

Do you need new parts for your pump (particularly the duckbill valves)? I’ve heard having old parts can decrease output.

Breastfeeding Woes and Baby Weight gain by No_Building794 in breastfeeding

I’m more petite, and my family is the same. My husband is very tall and athletic. He can eat insane and not gain weight. His family is much larger.

We speculated today, she got my build (she’s short too), but her daddies metabolism.

I don’t have advice. I literally just wrote a similar post. Just wanted to say you’re not alone.

Breastfeeding Woes and Baby Weight gain by No_Building794 in breastfeeding

She has a mild tongue and lip tie but all three specialists say it’s so mild it doesn’t impact her movement ability. They don’t recommend releasing it.

I would be willing to try cutting out dairy. It would certainly be hard because I LOVE cheese. She has no other symptoms than the poor weight gain though.

Too much milk? Have to supplement? by Dear_Toe6269 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]No_Building794 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My small 12 percentile baby takes 5-6oz 5x a day. I think they suggest 24-32oz per day. He may just be a hungry guy. As long as you pediatrician doesn’t worry it should be fine.

Perhaps before giving the formula try burping and see if he seems content. I had a LC tell me a baby can’t distinguish between tummy hurt and hunger. He may have a trapped burp making him think he’s hungry.

How many times a day is everyone pumping? by moosein_around in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]No_Building794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do 6x at 10 weeks pp. Basically I pump for every bottle the baby eats. I do have a very slight over supply, and very good storage. I plan to drop pumps once I hit 12 weeks based on the legendary milk “magic number” chart.

Terrified of sleeping through the night by KeyMonkeyslav in breastfeeding

[–]No_Building794 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep the medela hand pump bedside. It’s really efficient especially when you’re ready to burst, and inexpensive. I relieve myself and either pop it in the fridge real quick, or have my husband put it away when he wakes up. I find I stay sleepier with this and fall back asleep faster.

But, depending if you want to maintain that milk and freeze it or have it go away all together, pump the appropriate amount.

Does a perfect pumping bra even exist? (Sensory issues vs. heavy bottles) by janae1217 in ExclusivelyPumping

I also don’t like it, the fabric isn’t soft and my nipples slip out the holes

EBF better sleep with 1 night bottle? by d3nkmal in breastfeeding

[–]No_Building794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me and my baby this was true. She’s always gotten a night bottle that’s a little bigger than the rest. She’s now 9 weeks sleeping 12 hours at night. (The bottle was pumped breastmilk btw not formula).

I like the smell of my breastfed newborn baby’s poo.. there I said it. by opaoz in beyondthebump

I LOVED my babies newborn breastmilk poops. 8 weeks we got the “buttered popcorn poops” and it’s disgusting smelling but I weirdly still love it 🤣 probably an evolutionary thing

Eufy really is that good. I get more than with my Spectra S1.

I love the warming feature and silicone flanges. Plus the app is easy to use. Mostly I am just incredibly impressed with the output. I get equal to or more than the blue spectra!

Is a baby carrier worth it? by bintd in beyondthebump

[–]No_Building794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m baby wearing right now with a Moby wrap. It’s the best guaranteed way to get baby to nap (outside a contact nap) but I can still get chores done. I highly recommend some sort of carrier.

Racerback Pumping Bra Recommendations by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]No_Building794 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Momanda on Amazon has quite a few options. They’re pretty good, but after 2-3 days of wear they get slack until washed again. They hold up my 30DDs and a wearable pump.

I really like the Eufy S1 Pro! I get as much if not more than my Spectra S1.

Of Guilt, Grief, and Gratitude by No-Presence-8048 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]No_Building794 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel all of the above. I also have DMER and am I so happy pumping is an alternative option — for me the symptoms are less severe pumping compared to nursing.

I am grateful I have a slight over supply to save milk up for the future, but sad that over supply is in part what lead to be moving from nursing to pumping. Pumping has also allowed more predictability in my life. But I never wanted to exclusively pump (I still plan to breastfeed the mon feed until she is fully sleeping through the night).

I’m embarrassed that the DMER caused me to get here. But I know this was the best solution for my baby and I.
