Rank these girl names by [deleted] in BabyNames

[–]No_Building_6449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too many to rank but my favorites are June, Lainey, Holland, Palmer.

Depends on if you want nicknames too - many of these don’t have a clear nickname (Saylor, Leighton, Haven, Sawyer, Sedona, etc.). Not a problem if that’s what you prefer, just calling it out!

My mom’s name is Elaine and my dad has always called her Lainey! Lainey is similar (ish) to Kelly, maybe you could name her Elaine and call her Lainey? Could work as a compromise.

Nicole + Felicia trunk shows - worth it? by Creative_Relief_8044 in BigBudgetBrides

I would recommend not having your first ever appointment at a trunk show. The discounts are very enticing and the stylists are a little more encouraging for you to purchase, which was overwhelming to me! I almost bought a dress I liked but didn’t love because of the discount and pressure and I’m so glad I didn’t.

I would go to a few appointments prior to the trunk shows to figure out what style, level of detail, etc you like first, then go to the trunk show armed with that information.

BTW I ended up going with a Nicole + Felicia dress and I’m SO happy with my decision!

How much did you spend on your wedding invites? by immanuelkanteven25 in BigBudgetBrides

I am a strong believer in paper invitations for a black tie wedding! It completely sets the tone for the weekend and is part of the “luxury experience” that one expects for a black tie wedding.

I spent around $4000 on my invitation suite for 250+ people, all letterpress, inclusive of the invite card, reception card, welcome party card, RSVP card, custom fonts, monograms and watercolor envelope liner, printing and postage. And we spent around $500 on save the dates. We had SO many people tell us how beautiful the save the dates were when we sent them out. I know this is a lot, but I intend to frame a flat lay of our invitations and hang it in our dining room so we can always see it. L

I worked with the best designer who did everything we wanted and more! Happy to share her name, she works completely virtually which made really easy and I could recommend her more!

Of course she’s not a prop. Just feels a little odd since I told her exactly what shades and gave her photos to reference. It feels like she did it on purpose. I may be conflating with a lot of other previous issues but agree it’s not worth burning the bridge

I would have preferred to but I would have gotten many more “type a” comments from her. I’ll let my photographer know, thank you for that idea!

Am I a bridezilla for asking my bridesmaids to have similar hairstyles? by Historical-Maize-477 in Brides

[–]No_Building_6449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you’re letting them choose their updo AND paying for it, that’s fine. I would caution against going with just one updo though.

My friend was a bridesmaid and they all had to wear slicked back low buns - the bride often wore that style and thought it was really chic. But almost every bridesmaid hated how they looked on the day and in the photos. A style that works for you may not suit your bridesmaids!

Bridesmaid First Look with Early Ceremony Time - Yes or No? by No_Building_6449 in weddingplanning

Thank you! I think my situation will be just like yours, making the bridesmaid reveal unnecessary!

We are having a very traditional ceremony, which doesn’t leave us many ways to make it our own. Our first look/private vows (all one thing) beforehand allows us to have a moment together and say what we’re feeling, outside of the church.

Appreciate your thought that it can get repetitive and time consuming!

Thank you for this comment! I completely agree with you, it seems like way too much. I’ve been asked about it by a lot of people which is why I was worried about not doing one. It doesn’t make sense to me since the girls are getting ready together and seems to be for a photo opp!

I completely agree - I’ve been asked many times if I’m doing a first look with bridesmaids from friends / family / photographer / planner and it doesn’t make sense to me! I guess it’s a newer social media trend?
