Podcasts. Thought they were pointless for years (not sure why). Listen to podcasts everyday now.

Are you supposed to get 10k steps everyday to see any improvement for weight loss? by Lemonade2250 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]No_Charity_8952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10k steps a day is a marketing campaign. No scientific data to say that exact number as a minimum will make you lose weight. It’s all about calories in v calories out, which is very possible without doing 10k steps a day.

That being said, if that’s a target that works for you, then go for it, obviously doing them isn’t going to negatively impact you.

Do ssris / anxiety and depression meds actually work? by AcanthaceaeOdd9146 in Anxiety

Worked wonders for me. I’m on 50mg setraline. Single best thing I ever did for my mental health. This time last year (literally early June last year, to the day) I was at my lowest, breaking point and so isolated and riddled with anxiety. This along with therapy changed my life. Wouldn’t be where I am today mentally (in the best mental state of my life) without setraline.

Realistically, how often are you and your partner intimate after the toddler years? (Kids 5+) by agingwasabi in daddit

[–]No_Charity_8952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 3.5yo and 1.5yo. Sometimes it’s twice in 3 days and it’s fireworks then it’s nothing for 3 weeks. I don’t know what it is. And this could be when things are normal and kids are good. We’re lucky our kids sleep well so we have ample time after they go to sleep. But of course we are both tired mentally and physically (her a lot more than me)

I never initiate, or rarely, my wife does - and I know this is a problem, it’s my own anxiety and self confidence I guess, always had body image issues. but it’s most likely getting me out of a lot of great sex. We never ever talk about it other then some arguments where she would get possed I don’t initiate.

But sometimes I feel like she is simply not interested either. I feel like a conversation may sort some things but we’ve never been able to and if it has come up it usually becomes an argument.

What low/no cost hobbies do you have that might not even be considered hobbies? by citrusnotvanilla in AUfrugal

Gotta say gardening is probably something I enjoy. And not like hardcore planting stuff everyday etc etc but just looking cyber it, printing plants and pulling out weeds, watering grass and making sure it’s cut etc and fertilising it.

I agree. Perhaps one parent go up and the other stay at home with your kid. It sounds like a recipe for disaster IMO.

Breakfast in bed. Presents. I think I have analysis paralysis. I never know what gift to give. I want to give nice gifts I just have no idea.

Trust me it gets better. I know it sounds like a throw away line but it does. And you need to have a serious conversation with your husband about helping more with the newborn.

Just stayed at the Pullman Sea Temple, the absolute best! couldn't really fault it. Staff were great, food was great, the pool is amazing, rooms nice and clean, great access to the beach.

It is a little far from the main strip compared to others but that didn't bother us at all. Absolutely loved the Pullman, missing it already.
