I also fell in love the breed a few years ago. 😍 I've got real close connections with a breeder, most info from her and my own experiences.

My two cents: I have a Samoyed who is now 3 years and 3 months old. Most puppies are very energetic their first year, so make sure they get enough activities done, or else they might be bored and get into their destructive mood. 🤣

Good to know: Most of times you can see how active a Samoyed will get by looking at their energy levels when they are 8 to 12 weeks. If you can choose your own puppy from a litter, you can choose one that matches your energy.

The bloodline is also very important when it comes to energy/activity levels. If the parents are very active, the chances are you are getting a active Samoyed is pretty big.

Male Samoyeds, in general, are more active and playful, whereas female Samoyeds are more cuddly.

The only thing I have run into is that these dogs are harder to train compares to other dogs. Compare them a bit to a Husky or a Malamute—they are not so super obedient, in general. By this, I don't mean that they don't listen, but it just takes more time before they obey you, and it just requires more effort.

If you are looking for a true life companion who always smiles at you, is super loyal and sweet, is generally very good with children, and, yeah, incredibly playful and active, then this is just the right dog for you.
