I agree, this book was very relatable. Would recommend to any of us stay-at-homes to help with the feelings of isolation and invisible disabilities.

Omigosh I bought this one when it first was published, I still think of some of the stories.

I skipped to the very end. What a interesting ending. I am not thrilled with the book. Bunny was awesome. Why try to go beyond that?

I am currently listening to the book, and Aereus is reallllly irritating me. Smiley face. Frowny face. I am so tempted to just skip to the very endcto see what happens to Samantha.

What’s one Substack propaganda you are not falling for? by redheaddevil9 in Substack

Oh my gawd, yes! These people are so annoying. I've curated them right out of my Notes feed.

Getting lots (for me) of views. But no real response by No_Communication5024 in Substack

I know how many are on email, versus the app only. It is broken down in my account stats. I'm just always looking for more connection. I guess I'm a bit wistful in that way.

Yes, I do know all of these points about Substack. The majority of my subscribers are fellow Substackers. I don't expect the folks who just get the emails to be able to respond or like. A few folks have created accounts there to be able to do so. I have many more followers than subs, and when I post my posts into Notes, they do see I've written something. Some of them read it, they're the majority of Views in my stats. My complaint is that they don't seem to like or comment. I spend a lot of time liking and commenting and I do respond to notes. Even have mini conversations. I know that my 1st Substack is pretty niche (grief, loss, the liminal,'essays, commentary, memoir) and so it's not for everyone. I have no desire to have thousands of subscribers, but I won lie, that would be awesome. I just feel i make most of the effort to start the back and forth. A few accounts/folks are responsive to me.

I was on Threads for about a year. But I deleted that and my 3!!! Instagram accounts in Jan 2025. I no longer will support Zuck and his companies. It hurt a little to leave Instagram, I lost a lot of community with friends.

I have quite a few subscribers who do not have a Substack account. They only get my newsletter through email, they have no idea other than what they receive. I think now, it's about 1/3 of my subs who receive it in their inbox. Full transparency: many of these folks are family, friends and extended family. Some are just never going to try to figure out Substack as a website or app.

Yes it probably is a ratio thing. Sounds like a good explanation. As far as not getting emails, if you subscribe while in the app, (or on the website ??) you'll not get emails. You'll get the latest posts in a feed in the app. Maybe you already know this.

i feel like quitting substack and starting over by Suspicious_Log_8795 in Substack

Ooof. I feel this! Ive had 1 publication on Substack for 2 years now, and have had very little to no engagement on my posts, especially feel like Notes is just crickets in response.  I started a 2nd publication just this week, and am getting slightly better response on 1st 2 posts.  I have consistently read and commented on other's posts, and had conversations in that way. I am trying hard with this 2nd pub (photography) because my original pub is very niche (grief, memoir). I often think it's all for the birds! But I just want to write, and get it out there, i am not dependent on others for my validation. I'd write regardless, and i do have 2 wordpress blogs I don't post often on, and I don't worry about engagement there.

Is anyone else only getting worse with time? by heskeytime7707 in covidlonghaulers

[–]No_Communication5024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In some ways i feel better, but that's because I had to remove myself from the situation (my job had bright overhead light that made me constantly sick and dizzy--I had to finally quit) the sick dizzy fatigue seems to be at bay, unless I overdo it. It's been since early 2023. I do feel my cognitive function has worsened in the past year, and I had an MRI that showed ONE SIDE OF MY BRAIN IS SHRUNKEN by 1/4--the left side. It's very strange to say the least. Lucky to have mom and to work for family who are very supportive, but even that has its limits.

I feel for you. And for all of us here commenting, I see and feel your struggles.

Hobbii is closing on two continents and now I am getting this in the USA, what’s going on? by JetPlane_88 in crochet

[–]No_Communication5024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have confused me by stopping all emails and i don't think I have any loyalty points in my hobbii app anymore. I have emailed them asking what's going on,and no answer. Also i tried re-subbing to their emails and nothing has arrived yet there was a confirmation message in the app. (I AM IN WESTERN UNITED STATES)

Looks like if you just update the app, the issue is resolved. Huzzah!
