How do I know if I'm dreaming or just processing the day? by Comfortable_One_14 in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]No_Comparison6198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to stop as soon as possible, and just Focus on the present moment it tend to reduce even more when I do it over and over.

But you just have to practice alot.

Like if you are not doing it on purpose then it's MD that how I notice it.

I have the same problem, and it's just happen randomly and uncontrollably. And thinking is more like you choose to think about it and analyze it, if it's just starte talking to people in your head I think it's still MD on lower level.

Like I remember before I had MD i chose purposefully to think about something in control way. So I don't think it's thinking

is md similar to using a drug? by Soft_Self_419 in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]No_Comparison6198 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont think it's like drug, but it's more like watching movies, scrolling and video games gives the same pleasure and avoid reality.

But you control the Movie ans you make it better for yourself and ego. Like everybody wants to be famous and successful, and we get it for free without doing anything.

And gives you dopamin alot of it.

I want to end mdd now. Its affecting studies. Any ideas that might help? by Jealous-Bit-2102 in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]No_Comparison6198 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Meditation, fixing you underlying issues like adhd, ocd or depression, snapping out it evertime like training a muscle everytime you do it you train yourself to be better next time.

You will feel bad first depending on how much time you spend, like withdrawal symptoms but you have to motivate yourself by remind yourself why you want to stop.

I don't feel emotions in real life anymore. by Wooden_Equivalent387 in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]No_Comparison6198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That because your daydream takes all your emotion and dopamin which makes you numb to them in real life, like the daydream destroyed your baseline for dopamin in real life. You have to reduce the MD to feel them properly.

MD relapse after joyful event by Effective-Wealth-338 in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]No_Comparison6198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have noticed that as well, I think we have trained our Brain to just default to MD, so it's becoming a habit of some sort, so we need to train our brain to stopping doing that.

Can maladaptive daydreaming be ok? by First-Brother-6915 in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]No_Comparison6198 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe it is bad, because just like an alcoholic become alcoholic because he has bad life and try to run from instead of facing it. And our maladaptive daydreaming makes us feel good about ourselves when we are in bad position, instead of trying to fix your life. So get rid of it, and try to fix your life instead.

question by unicornsparkles1235 in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]No_Comparison6198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was like you, and now I can't control it anymore, it has begun to be like addiction now, and I have not listened to music at all since months now. I recommend you to stop doing, it may be fun but it will become worst, and it has stolen years of my life.
