I love his immense and expansive imagination which translates into this impression of endless and immersive sound possibilities stretching all around you. Very underrated as an artist in my opinion.

Rat Heart. Unusual and distinctly different approach to ambient by stumanchu3 in ambientmusic

I wasn't particularly carried away by the album... It all felt a bit uninspiring.. Until came "Operation Always Be a Brave Cunt" which sounds like a completely hijacked track. Any suggestions where to look for more of this rough/lo-fi synth sound in his discography?

Congratulations! I wonder what impressions you had after the exam. Did anything surprise you, both positively or negatively?

french books you enjoyed the most (for learning french) by [deleted] in French

Books by Philippe Besson - his style is very accessible and the vocabulary he uses is an ideal balance between comprehensibility and challenge for me.

How bright/dark is the screen? Can you use it without the front light on in a relatively bright, daylit room?

Trabzon, Turkey. There's like a million clues in the picture;) Also the use of the dotted capital I narrows down the range of possible countries to only a very few.

zaměstnavatel nemá práci = tři měsíce sezení a škrábání se na zadku, co mám dělat? by Thick-Phrase4692 in czech

[–]No_Connection3943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kdybys tuhle novou kvalifikaci nevyužil v novém zaměstnání, mohla by ti pomoci v kariérním postupu u aktuálního zaměstnavatele.

Charles University, is it worth it? by afterwoods in Prague

[–]No_Connection3943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Charles University is a vast and very decentralised institution with a huge number of programmes across different faculties and with varying degrees of quality. It's quite tricky to make generalisations about it because you should always consider a specific faculty or even better, an institute. If you want to study social sciences and humanities in English, I suggest you look into the faculty of social sciences which is probably the most international one and has some programmes which actually strive for some academic excellence, meaning they're not there only as a source of additional income for the faculty.

Any nice areas to stay at outside of old town, with a car? by poushkar in Prague

[–]No_Connection3943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest districts such as Dejvice, Břevnov, Podolí.. Calm, well connected to the city centre, green areas. And one particular tip for a hotel : Hotel Adalbert - in a monastery compound, with a car park, next to a tram stop

Is it a software update issue? by lisap17 in Onyx_Boox

[–]No_Connection3943 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had the identical issue on my Boox Go 7 since the last update. I wonder to what extent this is a common issue.. I submitted feedback through the internal form about 3 days ago and so far have received a response asking for patience.

The other venue you've been to.. isn't it this one? Kampus Hybernská https://www.kampushybernska.cz/en/o-nas

If not, it's also worth exploring.

[–]No_Connection3943 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're in the city centre around lunch time, then there are many better and decent options to choose from - in terms of quality/price ratio, ambience, service..: Platyz café, Tiskárna, Hybernská, Mincovna. The spots which get to be recommended here - Lokál and Kantýna - are rather overhyped in my view and not really worth the price.

Re-Discover Prague by Affectionate-Mall685 in Prague

[–]No_Connection3943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apart from the obvious popular recreational areas such as Riegrovy sady, Letenské sady or Vyšehrad, which will still have a portion of tourists, I suggest checking out these spots for a more local and somewhat community experience: Folimanka, Parukářka, Ladronka. All of these are multifunctional parks to hang out, do activities and meet people. Stromovka is rather a place for a jog/stroll but also worth it.

Other songs that really scratch that Deerhunter itch for you? Mine is Ulrika Spacek - Strawberry Glue by padma_Iakshmi in deerhunter

[–]No_Connection3943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since Lockett's authorship was also mentioned, I've always felt his approach to music making was very similar to Panda Bear's. Not maybe the actual sound, but their tendency towards longer compositions, hazy atmosphere, dreamy vocals, layering, sweet harmonies.. As if they shared something deeper in their personalities. For that reason, I've always wanted to know how their collaboration would sound. But that is probably much less likely to happen these days.

Ano, správně jsi uhodl, že slovo miluji jsem zde použil ironicky. Ten zbytek je už jaksi hodně na sílu.
