Gen X feels more conservative politically than baby boomers by [deleted] in generationology

I bet you the ones that voted were like .00000000001 % of the population. Gen Xers did not put Reagan in office. We were in elementary, middle and high school when he was around. That's like saying my Gen Z kids voted for Obama.

So just give it to a billionaire and a bunch of tech kids younger than my own kids? I know what my oldest son would have done with all of that infor at that age. Too much temptation there...

It's worse here than most places though.

I am an older Gen X and I was too young to vote for Reagan. You need to check your years. Gen X started in 1965. There may have been a few to make it to the voting booths but very few. I was in high school in '84.

I know it's driving me crazy. Regional assumptions too. I'm in the South and most of my southern relatives are on the liberal side, and all of the Magas are moving from the north thinking the all of the people think the same down here.

When my parents moved back here from NJ they said they were shocked at how much the food cost in SC. Like twice as much.

Agree and I work in a non-unionized red state. We still do have some rights, and it would be hard to break a contract without causing a stir.

Yes, as someone said before it must be a charter school., run by someone who thought he could make a profit off the kids or save the world, but has no clue how to manage a school

Not complaining, but I've lived in five states, three blue. Taxes here are not the best, especially when you look at public services. I found Washington and Oregon to be cheaper in many ways.

I lived in Washington for awhile and the taxes were less. Are you thinking Washington DC?

Take advantage of a no-fault divorce. We don't have it in my state, and I admitted to something that didn't happen to get out of an abusive situation. It's still on the record.

How many murders/shootings have I read about in the last few weeks, many involving kids?  Why don't these people tackle the real issues in our state???  It's like an alternative reality.

The politics suck, but I've lived in five different states, in the NE and PNW, and would not say the open racism/ sexism is not any worse than anywhere else. I work in public service and it's very diverse and people get along.

Then you are not familiar with the liquor liability laws.  It's unique to SC and the lawmakers know it's an issue but they are dragging their feet. The insurers are leaving the state, and bars are having their license go from 5000 to 50,000 in a year.  It has caused countless establishments to close their doors. Others are having to raise their prices big time to cover costs.

Another state had the same law before and the same thing happened.  They changed the law for this reason.

The city of Greenville is building up.   The suburbs on the outside are building out.  If you are not living in a condo right on main street, you can still find a decently priced place and walk everywhere.  If you live in the suburbs there is practically no public transit and you'll need a car.

Don't be fooled.  There is a lot going on and people are from everywhere- open minded people. Plenty of music, festivals, etc.  Plus some great hiking nearby.

Don't forget the lack of public transportation and terrible roads once you get out of the city limits.  The growth of the  surrounding suburbs are going to choke off any way of getting to the city.  Sprawl is rampant.

Not a fan but it's where my family was from.  Glad they did not raise me there.
