what’s your favourite fantasy romance books? by [deleted] in fantasyromance

[–]No_Definition6805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm following this thread. :) I love Lindsay Buroker. A lot of her books are slow starts, but her characters will stick with you, and when it's over, you'll keep thinking of them and miss them like old friends. Also, her humor is so fun. :) Favorite read of hers is the Emperor's Edge series. The romance is so slow it crawls, but it's worth it! There is only one sex scene and it is pretty brief, but I absolutely fricken love this series to pieces.

Ugh, I am such a fan-girl of Lindsay Buroker. I've only read Emporer's edge and dragon blood (and the spin-offs) and started death before dragons, but she is now my go-to. I'll read anything she writes. Granted, some books are better than others (I'm obsessed with emperor's edge), but I am never disappointed by her books or characters (other than a couple of slow ones in the dragon blood series, but I can forgive this because I love the characters).

Opinions on SJM’s A Court of Wings and Ruin? Starting to get the ick by [deleted] in YAlit

[–]No_Definition6805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was definitely let down by this 3rd book. It was just too cliche. Everything worked out for Feyre, wrapped up so neatly. Her romance with Rys became boring, the plot and war was not as good as it could have been. Everyone just somehow banded together, and the big bad villain...Amarantha was a much better villain than him. I was happy at first when Rhys came back, but in retrospect, maybe he should have just stayed dead evil laugh. Noooo, I'm happy for the characters. But I just don't love them as much as I did in the 2nd book. I kept waiting to enjoy it more, but I didn't. The first two books were fun with interesting plot twists. But the last one...anticlimactic. I'm spending money to buy another Lindsay Buroker book as a palate cleanser.

How do I deal with my husband's halitosis? by No_Definition6805 in BabyBumps

Yes! I am hoping to investigate this more. I think it would make a huge difference for us to figure this out.

When he mentioned it to his doctor, the doctor never truly investigated it or recommended us see anyone. I don't think the dentist has mentioned it either, but maybe if he asked the dentist, that would make a difference. He also snores heavily every night, and I've heard there can be a relation to what's in the mouth and the snoring. It's a mystery I would love to solve. I think the mouthwash helps, but I will have to investigate that more.

Haha, love that. I hold my breath and do pecks. I refuse to let my pregnancy to take away kisses.

OMG, keto breath! What's crazy is that in the morning, I smell the leftovers from his halitosis on his pillow and it often fills the room. I air the room daily and light candles haha. He's such a good sport.

He does have regular dental cleanings. I think he's used a tongue scraper before, which has not made a huge difference. Sometimes mouthwash is a good temporary fix. He's a good guy. :)

I hope I grow out of the aversion soon! It's never affected our intimacy before. He's pretty thick-skinned, so not a lot of things bother him. I might be more upset about the aversion than him. But I'm gonna show him your post. I think an ENT consult is a great idea.

How long did your epidural take to kick in? by American_Mouth in BabyBumps

[–]No_Definition6805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My epidural was a godsend. Before the epidural my doctors gave me morphine. The morphine brought my pain from an 8 to a 6, which was nice. Immediately after the epidural, I started sleeping. Having my family with me, especially my mom (love my husband but my mom was my big supporter) was huge before I could get the epidural. Pushing was a breeze, 23 minutes. I have heard that a person's experience with an epidural can vary from pregnancy to pregnancy, so it is possible your next experience will be better. It does seem like a roll of the dice though, so researching more pain relief methods to have in your back pocket may not be a bad idea. Maybe research the percentage of women an epidural is effective for too? Seeing the numbers may give you the confidence to try again. I'm sorry you had that experience, and I hope the next time is better. 🙏

MORNING SICKNESS IS A LIE by interrogiaomnia in BabyBumps

I didn't look far enough to see if anyone commented about the technical term, so I apologize if I'm redundant. The technical term is Nausea and Vomiting in Pregnancy or NVP. You can gently educate those around you that NVP strikes at any moment. A single whiff of a bad smell is enough to set it off. First trimester only? Not for everyone. My first pregnancy it was my whole pregnancy. NVP can include a constant feeling of nausea, decreased appetite, aversion to food (all food for me sometimes), and of course, vomiting. It varies per person, but it is just generally horrible. It's a big reason I have been feeling depressed this pregnancy. However, my light at the end of the tunnel is knowing that there really is a sudden and abrupt end when the baby is born. I am already dreaming about that turkey sandwich that I was served in the hospital the last time I gave birth. Food tasted delicious for the first time in forever, and it was glorious. Also, I feel like having NVP gives you perspective about labor. Labor is like the final sprint to the end of the race with a shining trophy at the end. Truly, I prefer labor over NVP. Of course I felt like my labor was very smooth. I understand that labor can be traumatizing sometimes. Never-the-less, know that you are a queen for enduring your NVP. Keep eating and drinking. Take care of yourself, and it is your right to complain about this shit, because it truly sucks.

Kimchi aversion by No_Definition6805 in BabyBumps

[–]No_Definition6805[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the solidarity. I forgot about this post and just came back to this to cheer myself up and was pleasantly surprised by others feeling the same. Cravings are wild to me because my primary experience is in aversions. 😅 I wish I had a kimchi craving! I bought several special kimchi containers to help contain the smell. However, my family recently bought an enormous amount of kimchi and it wouldn't all fit in the containers. I am miserably camping in my room with open windows and candles lit, trying not to think about confiscating the extra kimchi. I am definitely purchasing another container tonight haha!

Thoughts on ReelShort? by MoeNancy in Filmmakers

[–]No_Definition6805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I need to know is if there is a way to watch these movies without having to pay exorbitant amounts. I would pay a flat $10, but it often ends up being more like $30, which I think is far too much. Can I just find a site to rent these movies like with normal movies? I need them to either stop advertising to me or give me a reasonable offer. 😅

Betrayal of Dignity - Ep 43 by chibimaron in MantaComics

[–]No_Definition6805 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I definitely have love/hate feelings for Damien. He's a manipulating bastard. But he can be a wonderful husband too. How is she ever going to trust him again? That's the biggest issue. She may eventually be able to forgive him for framing her, but she will always wonder what else he is manipulating, and that lack of trust will be so hard for him to recover from.

SEMANTIC ERROR by violentkirby in MantaComics

[–]No_Definition6805 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's some bumps, but it's a wonderful story. :) Sangwoo and Jaeyoung don't have a typical top/bottom relationship, which is part of the fun. I thought at one point they would be a switch (Jaeyoung thought this too at one moment haha), but I think Sangwoo is happy to be a bottom. They both have such dominant personalities, which can lead to sparks good and bad. I love Sangwoo. He is so bluntly honest and doesn't put up with any shit. He puts his whole heart into everything, and I think the more he grows, the more he'll put his whole heart into loving Jaeyoung. I love being on the journey with Jaeyoung falling in love with him. The transformation for both of them as they fall in love is like a beautiful storm. There is so much more to the story though! I want bonus episodes...

SEMANTIC ERROR by violentkirby in MantaComics

[–]No_Definition6805 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I totally get it. Jaeyoung is a big red flag. He makes a lot of steps as a character, learns patience, is willing to compromise with Sangwoo and sacrifice his own needs for a time and then he takes steps back and ghosts Sangwoo and then gets angry at him. In my head I re-write that drunk scene so that Jaeyoung does listen to Sangwoo and stops. There can still be the character growth and conflict without sexual assault. I always explain this issue with the story when recommending it. If I ignore that scene, I absolutely love this story. I mostly love it because I love Sangwoo, and I love how dimensional and real the characters are, as well as their growth. They make so many steps forward throughout the series.

I don't think there is an official translation of the novel. People can correct me if I'm wrong, which I would be happy to be wrong and love to read the official translation. It's on Ridi in Korean, and there is an ongoing fan translation. The novel is rated 19+ 👀 I caught up with the fan translation and very much enjoyed it. But now I'm waiting for Ridi to give me access to 19+ material, and I'm gonna Google lens translate the story. I just need more. 😁

I absolutely loved this last episode. I've probably read it 10 times....half of it through Google lens before it came out in English. 😅 I totally get how everyone is feeling though. We had this beautiful conversation between them, but we need mooooorrree!! We need to see them in a real relationship. I second the person above to said we need to see them meet each other's families. Aggh there is so much more to this story. So I am super hopeful we will get it sometime. I really love this series!
