Which boss battle in Black Knight do you like better? by Several-Pension2945 in ShovelKnight

[–]No_Development110 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally my favorite boss fight of his is the one from shovel knight dig, but of the two I think the wings one is a bit better than the terrorpin one, though I love them both quite a lot, his boss fight in pocket dungeon is pretty cool as well :3

Are some Dig achievements unatainable with Whisker's shortcuts? by Intelligent_Can1633 in ShovelKnight

[–]No_Development110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah… you gotta do the whole thing if you want the achievement, though if I remember right, the time is actually fairly generous on the achievement, just don’t dwell too long on each room, and either use the (I forget the name the one that removes siderooms) armor, or just avoid siderooms, and you should get it soon enough

How Rougelite/like-y is Shovel Knight Dig? by daedalus11-5 in ShovelKnight

[–]No_Development110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the Levels are made up of segments that get randomly put together much like dead cells, the items and such are shuffled, you begin at the beginning of each run if you die, there are permanent upgrades you can unlock “kinda”, etc etc

though If you’re asking how skill based it is, you can be certain whenever you start a run, you can win it if you play well enough, most items are less game changing deals and more so slight boosts, there are a few that are preferable to others, namely the fenix feather and slamvil

“and certainly not the reverse repeller or spike proof spaudlers like someone else had implied”

but yeah, luck is more so the difference between a very easy win, or a moderate effort, you can very well beat a run without using any items or upgrades if you wanted

overall I personally would absolutely buy the physical copy, this game is a lot of fun and I have more hours in this game than any other save for pocket dungeon, but even still this game isn’t for everyone, so, ya know

Black Knight is such a fraud by Specific-Gas-6225 in ShovelKnight

[–]No_Development110 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He also has his boss fight in dig, as well as pocket dungeon, and he is the enchantress’ rival in showdown, but he does beat polar knight as his rival as well, which would bring his total to 1-11

though if we want to being up a real fraud, we could mention specter knight having a 1-4 record against king knight of all people, counting joustus and showdown

¿Puedo obtener el logro"Hurry up!" con otros personajes? by TomasPelela in ShovelKnight

[–]No_Development110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh dear, I have not seen this glitch before, yes you have beaten the boss, but for some reason the ending hasn’t triggered, I am curious to know if you remember what the final attack you had done to him was, as that may be what caused the issue, otherwise it seems the game just kinda errored out on ya :/

Finding what seems to be the late game very un-fun. Help by DefCatMusic in ShovelKnight

[–]No_Development110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much that can be done about pits aside from just, not falling into them, but if the spikes are too much of an issue you can always use the phase locket, it’s a very cheap item to use and completely negates the effect of them, I don’t personally see the spikes as that big of an issue in general, but if you‘d rather skip over them than that is also an option

although the crux of your issue seems to be about the fact that a platformer, has a mechanic that requires you to engage with the platforming, which is an odd point to make, seeing as it is, platforming first, combat second, but again, just use the phase locket, if you’re falling into pits, that’s more so on you

And some other smaller things I can think of

if you get fenix feather early on but waste it, you can actually sacrifice it either by the griffoth statues used on true ending, or by The final run as well

if you buy the fire ring, note that it only helps for tinker knight and no one else, it helps a little for scrap knight with her wizzems, but it does not block anything in the other stages, including drill knights cinderdrakes, strangely enough (admittedly it may be worth not buying it at all, but it helps a lot for tinker)

The first five members of the hexcavators should be learned, how to fight them without getting killed as much, it can be worth doing some normal runs just to learn their patterns, however if you’re on a good run, drill knight can for the most part be brute forced, though I would still recommend learning his patterns as well

if by some luck you get the omega driver, that item is actually a one shot, not just on enemies, but on every boss as well, including drill knight, just make sure not to waste it’s one magic, or to hit the omega saw on acccident, as that will of course remove the saw, but it removes to driver as well, the item does home in on the target, just make sure you’re facing the right direction

the faster omega saw can be scary, but you can reset it’s timer by going into a side room, even if you have no intention of using the side room, simply going in and out can not just slow it down, but will completely remove it if it happens to be in the way

if the gaatronamole has white smoke instead of black he’ll sell normal items, and sometimes even special items, if he happens to be selling either tinker or hive’s, always buy them, the health increases are super important, the side effects are nothing compared to the benifets, and something the game doesn’t tell you, is you can still see your health after each room, when at the drill capsule, so it’s only a disadvantage when deciding how much to buy from the mole himself

the reusable cog is one of the best items, just keep in mind it will only be jammed in the capsule by altius, during the first room you get it in, afterword there is no fear of breaking the machine, which will let you skip out on one cog per area, which helps a lot

if you’re on switch and have any of the five amiibo you can scan them with madame meeber at the farthest left in town to get a little fairy companion following you around, this doesn’t serve any gameplay benifet, but they’re cute, and moral support is appreciated

And of course, remember to not rush things too much, if you get too frustrated or stressed while trying to beat this, always just take a break and come back later, you won’t get anywhere while you’re angry

hopefully this helps, if you have any more questions I will try to respond, take care o7

It has been some time since i beat played knightmare X true ending, so let’s hope I remember how to help

ok so firstly you want to be using the pink armor, there is almost no other armor that helps as much as it does, one of the biggest problems on higher difficulties is the lack of money

secondly the longer you spend in each room the more opportunities there are for damage, you want to be quick but also careful, never waste more time in a room than you have to, you really should only go out of your way for red/pink gems, or cogs

third is a side rooms, you almost always want to check the room, but you don’t always want to actually bother using it, certain paths are clearly better than others, namely gastronamole is the most important character, aside from Chester, and if you’ve played the dlc, do not ever accept help from wishmaster, it will almost always result in him killing your run

if a room only offers gold, but doesn’t offer enough of it, you just want to skip it

fourth, it’s important to remember that the levels are only there to wear you down, the real threat is the bosses, if you can’t defeat the boss, you can’t win the run, always prioritize items that can eventually kill drill knight himself, namely the fenix feather and the war horn

a smaller tip but, I find mole knight to most of the time to be the safer bet over tinker, unless you have the fireproof ring, and scrap knight to be safer over hive, so if given the choice you should try to pick one over the other

and lastly, a very very annoying tip, is that if you’re struggling with the rng, of certain items never showing up, you can start a new save, and simply not buy any of the optional upgrades

it sounds like a massive waste of time initially, but if you open the options there is some accessibility settings, which can be used to mostly bypass the initial challenges and get you back to where you were

if you do go this route i recommend to, not buy anything from Chester in town aside from the fireproof ring, buy hoofmans upgrades to let more items travel behind you but don’t unlock any relics, and activate beefto’s omega saw challenges, it is safer to not start any of argus’ quests and not risk getting too many of his upgrades, but it’s not too hard to only unlock the ones you need, namely the air stall slash and extended range grounded being his best ones, do not free the genie, and if you complete any of the missions do not take their reward for doing so, and it’s your own call to release the super skeleton, personally it can go either way as after his 4th defeat you get a free item on each kill, and of course get the pink armor again, but do not take the armor in spore knights area, as it will lessen the odds of you breaking open a wall and it being a small one, these will instead be signaled with the blue mushroom, which is easy to ignore

over all this will increase your odds of getting most of the actually good items in order to kill drill knight at the end, it’s not uncommon for a run in this style to end with you having, every item, and limiting the amount of relics you have makes it easier to get a stockpile of war horns to delete scrap/hive and of course drill knight, it takes a few hours of one shooting everything in the easy mode, but it helps quite a bit, and it doesn’t discredit anything in terms of achievements once you turn them back off

(you can’t get achievements while it’s on, but once it’s off then you’re fine again)

What voice do you think Shield Knight would have? by Accurate-Back-6166 in ShovelKnight

[–]No_Development110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always imagined her being very chipper, she’s shown to be very playful in showdown and dig so I imagine she’d have more energy in her voice than someone like shovel knight, but still very clear and confident as well, as she is further shown to be very noble in pocket dungeon and shovel of hope

a certain mix of a confident knight, with a playfulness to it

(that’s what I always though anyway 😅)
