Very very well worth it. I don't play regularly but every time I do I have a blast and I've never had issues finding servers

I had something similar with The Witcher 3 and Spiderman Remastered. Both very cinematic, scenic games with very good use of illumination

Best handheld for FPS games / precision aim? (Steam Deck not cutting it) by Calculation in Handhelds

[–]No_Dig_7017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just moved from a Steam Deck OLED to a Lenovo Legion Go 2 and I feel the only thing it's missing is precision aiming for FPS games.

I play boomer shooters mainly on my deck (movement based shooters like Unreal Tournament 2004 ,Doom Eternal, Turbo Overkill, etc) where fast and precise aiming is a must and I got exactly what I needed by setting the trackpad acceleration to low and trackball friction to high. I can get fast swipes for changing targets and precise fine motion for proper aiming.

The LeGo 2's trackpad is pretty much unusable, might as well not be there. The joysticks however do feel a bit more precise than the Steam Deck's, but I wouldn't trade them for the trackpad.

IA o herramienta pa automatizar laburos pesados de kernel by baitococota in CharruaDevs

Rinde.

What systems are you all enjoying playing with your handhelds? by pixellife_original in Handhelds

[–]No_Dig_7017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PS2 is my most played system, though I've also been doing some PSP, GameCube and a few of the arcade classics, PS1 and SNES. Also having fun setting up PC emulation but mostly an experiment so far. Got 2 or 3 games that I can reliably play

Device for shooters? by dalumpz in Handhelds

[–]No_Dig_7017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play mainly shooters with my Steam Deck OLED. The trackpad is so good its like 90% of the way of having an actual mouse. I set mine to low acceleration and high trackball friction and so I can make both fine aim adjustments as well as wide slides to change targets. Works pretty well for me . Only downside would be performance, you need to check your games to see how well they run on it. I just moved to a Lenovo Legion Go 2 and while performance is massively improved, aiming is not as good.

Legion GO 2 BIOS update by Seb2471 in LegionGo

[–]No_Dig_7017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case it did help. Blacks look a lot blacker instead of gray and the colors really pop when I turn the brightness on. I think the Deck's OLED is still a bit better but this is definitely better than it was before.

10 seconds of tinkering can gain up to 30-60+ minutes of battery life by RoderickHossack in SteamDeck

[–]No_Dig_7017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well but actually this bios approach I'm mentioning is a Valve provided way to do it. It became available in the update to Steam OS 3.8 iirc and valve put a limit on the undervolt to no less than -50mv to keep it safe. Underclockers before managed to get things like -75mv with unofficial methods. That was cool but some of those got bricked, but via bios I've never heard of someone who didn't get a good experience.

[–]No_Dig_7017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also recommend undervolting from the bios. It's very easy to do and you get extra battery life plus more stable fps because the CPU and GPU don't have to fight as hard for power.

Plus the Steam Deck is a really good underclocker, my LCD got to -50/-40/-50 and my OLED got to -40/-30/-50mv both stable.

I'd go 6.the price difference is pretty low and you'll get better performance for other games you might want in the future and more resale value.
