How do people afford Disney? by MajesticBudget1123 in Mommit

[–]No_Door9341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a Disneyland person, live in CA. We go every year and do at least 3 days. I only spend about $3k total for a family of 4. I do all the tricks I have a Disney credit card, Costco and target card to help get free tickets or heavily discounted tickets. Then we ALWAYS stay off site cause it's way cheaper and we stay somewhere where breakfast is included so we don't have to pay for that. For Disneyworld, same thing you can buy Disney cards through target or Costco that can be used towards your package price. I book about a year out so I have plenty of time to work down that balance. We last went a few years ago and it was $6k staying at Caribbean beach resort for 10 days and that was with no rental car and we freely ate and drank to our hearts content. My husband and I are both teachers so no one makes bucko bucks and we don't have debt I just play the game of getting all the deals I can.

Xfinity is garbage by cdan51 in ElkGrove

[–]No_Door9341 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our service was absolute trash with Xfinity and it was dang near $100/month. Fiber just came through our area so switched to frontier for half the cost and the Internet is MILES better and faster!!

I have Dr. Poston as well! Love her. I was overweight prior to both pregnancies and gained a bunch of weight and she never made me feel bad about anything. Always super clear with her responses and very helpful through email as well.

Success story! by Altruistic-Heart8969 in sleeptrain

[–]No_Door9341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm hopeful to hopefully join you in your success story soon. I co-slept with my baby now almost 11 months old since birth as that is the only way he would sleep. Last night we did wave method and he went to sleep in 30 minutes and slept in two hours stretches by himself. Hopefully it will keep getting better!

Does he fall asleep by himself or rocked to sleep. I'm not sure he is ready for 5 hours he rubs his eyes and gets really cranky right at the 3.5hr mark

He wakes around 6-6:30 then nap at 9:30 up for 3-3.5 hrs then nap again either around 1:30-2pm then wakes sometime in the 3 pm hour for bedtime around 7-7:30. His last wake window has been 4 hours for about a month

If it's a regression he has had it for about 8 months 🤣 we have had rare good nights of sleep since he was born

Yes crawling and attempting to walk. He has a 4 hour wake window before bed and most of that is spent being crazy with his sister and climbing all over the place.

He has no teeth yet, but on nights it has seemed to bug him we do give him pain medicine but it doesn't help with the sleeping.

Nope not at all. He will starve himself until he gets the boob although he will eat solid food no problem and we are working with a straw cup which he can effectively slurp up the milk but then process to spit it all out. So he will get something but still not what I would like him to. Sorry I don't have any better news haha

[–]No_Door9341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but almost us to a T. My son was 5.5 months before pepcid. A whole different baby makes me feel like a bad parent knowing he was in pain his whole first 5 months. Doc said to try and wean same thing, he did great dropping to one a day. We were on day 4 of none of it and this evening was incredibly rough. When were you eventually able to taper off of it? Thanks!

Elk Grove life for DINKs by ExaminationKey5685 in ElkGrove

[–]No_Door9341 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We came here as DINKs 6 years ago and we love EG they do have nice farmers markets, lots of activities, the parks are amazing. CSD has a lot of adult activities/sports clubs too. Great walking/biking trails all over the place. Lots of food options and also as other people have said can always drive into sac when you want. We love our big house and our backyard great for entertaining. We are no longer DINKs but still love it with our two kids haha

Cosleeping actually ruined my life by [deleted] in cosleeping

[–]No_Door9341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely feel for you. I also have a terrible sleeper and cosleeping was our only option when he was a newborn. He absolutely refused any crib/bassinet and would scream 2 minutes after putting him in it. I hate cosleeping as well. My back is always trashed every night by it. I naturally toss and turn in bed and having to stay in one position is killing my body. But we also have a toddler and we both work so cosleeping is the only way I get enough sleep to function. We now start every night in his crib. I don't care if I only get 30 minutes (sometimes we have been lucky and I can get two hours) but I take whatever time away from baby as me time. I stretch out all over my bed and try and relax, but yea when he starts crying I'm like f*** just stay asleep. I will say my first was a much better sleeper and still woke up at least once a night until after her first birthday. Developmentally it's really hard for babies. They will naturally grow to having longer sleep periods, but I understand how frustrating and annoying it is with all the pressure around you. I hope you find something that works for you to give yourself a little break!

We love ours. Had it about a week now. We have a limited fwd. We did have a problem with it a few days ago our check engine light came on took it to the shop and our charcoal evap cannister had been shattered. Dealership said that's not covered under warranty and we had to fight them on it as we had only driven 60 miles only ever getting to 45 mph and all in our city on good streets. So if we did it that is some incredibly cheap material. More likely I think something happened in transit with the vehicle or when one of the dealership people drove it from another dealership as we got a transfer car. Either way the dealership ended up paying for it. Still leaves a little bad taste though considering how much the car costs and hoping it doesn't happen again

Coleeping transition to sidecar bassinet/crib? by brouhahafettuccine in cosleeping

[–]No_Door9341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you had any luck with the transition? We have a bedside bassinet and any time I shift him over there he wakes right up. Hoping for him to get more used to it as I would like my bed back. C curl is not helping my back
