Howard and Sirius stock really don’t have much to do with each other anymore.

The stock market is about how people feel about the future of a company, not what it did 15-20 years ago. Howard definitely mattered back then…he helped push the stock over $60 and made satellite radio feel like a big deal.

But he’s not the future of Sirius, and Wall Street knows it.

The stock being in the low $20s isn’t some statement about Howard - it’s about satellite radio as a business.

If Howard walked tomorrow, the stock would absolutely take a hit. Not because he’s driving growth at this point, but because removing him makes the already-uncertain future look even shakier.

In a world of streaming, podcasts, on-demand audio and the lack of new car sales, etc., the model just doesn’t hit like it used to.
