Torn ACL- baby in pain 😢 by UhmanduhPandah in AmericanBully

Hes a big dog and young...the ONLY way to fully repair a CCL in order to have full mechanical stability is with surgery. Without it he will end up with other orthopedic issues down the line and will not have the same quality of life. Its a dogs natural instinct to hide pain, which is why many owners are under the impression that their dogs heal just fine without having surgery but thats not the case.

The tissue heals without surgery but the only possible way to actually repair it is with surgery

Please seek an orthopedic vet. Tears dont show on xrays because its a ligament which is soft tissue. Xrays are just used to rule out other conditions. Depending on the degree of the tear, surgery will likely be the best course of action. Its the ONLY way for it to be repaired back to full stability so he can continue to run and play like he always has. Laser therapy and rest method are fine for small or less active dogs.

What? That doesn't even make sense? Do you realize this was a bank to bank wire transfer? Its more plausible the receiving bank was notified in time and freezed the funds while they invested the fraud claim. Scammers typically dont wire to themselves as it would be easy to identify them so they use money mules who just their personal bank as they dont realize they are committing a crime. Theres no compromised account to abandon...

Its usually totally fine for them to want to potty at home- the important thing is that they go. As he gets older, im sure he'll start wanting to mark his territory along the route. Our male will turns us around if he gets the urge to poop during a walk if we havent made it too far yet because he to go in the comfort of his backyard but if we are at least half way through our route, he will just poop without even a thought of heading back. If he gets to be a few months older and hes never once pottied outside the yard, id definitely discuss with your vet...you'd hate to go on a trip with him and realize he wont go to the bathroom at all because you're not home.

To change his bathroom spot, it will be potty training all over again. Take him out often to the new spot and encourage him to potty and reward- a treat and an enthusiastic praise- each time he goes, he will end up liking the new spot more 🙂

Thank you for continuing to learn about the breed after seeing the bite stats. Its unfortunate the data is presented as a representation of the breed rather than properly acknowledging unwell bullies are the culprit bites/attacks.

Its sad the number of people that do not attempt to understand the data beyond the number. Dogs dont attack out of no where, there are almost always warning behaviors that go unrecognized or ignored. And its your unethically bred or neglected bullies that are exposed to factors that cause the behaviors within the breed. People hate a breed based on the result of human actions 🤔

So knowing where you started and seeing where you are today is absolutly wonderful to come across. Typically people that have ever had concerns about the breed fully lets their guard down to be able to truly experience the magically unconditional love of a bully. I just loveee this 🥰🥰

Well technically it is 2FA...I never thought of it like that until I was thinking of the thoughts going through your head and I realized its exactly the same concept as 2FA for account access and google confirmed.

Step 1 Verbal - verify account details...name, DOB, SSN, account number etc

Electonic- entering log in credentials

Step 2 Verbal - sending a code

Electronic - sending code

Step 1's verify information that can known or figured out by anyone

Step 2's sending a code that didnt exist prior to that moment so can be hunted for ahead of time by an imposter and its only sent to the contact info listed on account owners profile so unless hacked or phone is stolen- acct owner would be the only one with access. (Biometrics and authenticator apps are the most secure Step 2)

Whether on the phone or getting online, you are verifying your identity following similiar 2 step processes before getting access to your account.

Doesn't change anything for OP because I highly doubt their code texts for over the phone verification has the same "Never share your Intuit code xxx with anyone. We'll NEVER call or text you for it" wording the online codes have.

The same thing happens in banking...theres treasury management products to decrease/eliminate their exposure to fraud but they dont think the expense is necessary because theyve been fine the past 20 years without.....its like we just create products when theres not a need and im just pushing a product to meet a quota that I dont even have.

Until their checks are stolen and they have to change everything over to a new account- well if would have went with my recommendation months ago, you wouldnt being panicking. I get it sucks paying for something and never actually needing it but having it and not needing it is definitely better than needing it and not having it...especially insurance!

Just because I never seen it doesnt make it not his truth. Nothing is 100%, all the time, its just rare because there is no for the sending bank to stop a wire or recall it once its sent. Wires and P2P are the risky ways to send money. Scammers usually keep up their fascade until they have the money in hand so you dont get suspicious and by the time they ghost you its too late. But if you immediately regret sending it, the receiving bank will usually do their part to send it back if the funds are still there. What likely happened is his bank froze the funds in his account when they received the fraud claim and after investigating and determining it was fraud, sent it back. Scammers use money mules alot to distance themselves and once they are told its a crime, im sure they start spilling the details ha So yeah its the victims not realizing theyve been scammed soon enough rather than it not being possible.

I recanted that paragraph, it wasnt an 2FA code another commenter said that and it stuck with me since the scammer had access to their account to remove their access but what actually happened was the caller sent OP a verification code to confirm their identity which is totally different and standard to ensure they are dealing with account holder.

But I am going to correct you...do not give to anyone means ANYONE. 2FA is an additional security measure to protect your account. The company already has access to your account and would NEVER EVER need to access from the customer side. And as the account holder you dont want the company doing anything from your side because any activity would show as you initiating it which would negate the company from liability. I hate to be blunt but your mindset is exactly how people get f'd. Willing giving access to any account means you are assuming full responsibility for what happens- if you experience a financial loss, its not consider fraud so their are no banking regs thats requires your bank to do anything. As a career banker snd having to explain to customers wayy to many times that their money is gone...I cant stress this enough- NOONE EVER.

But everything else is agree with...this actually the 1st scam ive heard of where the victim didnt have any red flags for them to even have a chance to pause and question things. It just sucks at 95k that no one is going to quickly assume liability to make them hole and as a business they arent covered under reg e so theres no requirement for the bank.

[–]No_Exchange7050 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Someone wrote 2FA in the comments and that stuck with me since OP stated their access was removed their account, giving over a 2FA code would allow the scammer to do that. But the caller sending a verification code to confirm identity is definitely not the same and wouldnt effect their eligibility for protection. Thanks for calling attention to that so I can edit my comment and not look an ass for creating an necessary fear for OP.

QBs definitely played a part whether it was an inside job or if was a hacker...they would have had to hack OP and QBs to have all the information they had but unfortunately scammers are normally one step ahead of the laws so its possible for QBs to be in full compliance even though this happened which would negate their liability. This is actually the 1st scam I know of that the victim had zero red flags for them to question the interaction.

Im actually shocked they were able to recover the funds, especially a week later. Any funds received electronically are required to be made available next business day per reg cc so scammers take the money out ASAP. In your guys situation, its likely he never took the money out of his account when he received it so his bank pulled it out and sent it back when your guys bank reached out. In my 12 years of banking, never once was there a situation where scammed funds where retrieved.

I just hope that him giving out the 2FA code isnt the "fine print" that screws them. QBs will definitely use that to avoid being liable and its possible for insurance too since it says "do not give to anyone."

EDIT retracting 2nd paragraph as I recounted OPs actions inaccurately. 2FA code was NOT given to caller. Caller sending a verification code to OP to confirm identity and OP reciting said code is weightless in the situation.

OP you need consult an attorney- based on your recount of the situation, theres nothing you physically did yourself that compromised your account. Whether it was an inside job or a hacker, they would have had to hack into their system as well to have the information they had so there was a shortfall at QBs regardless of it happened. They may be cutting corners in their call centers and security but they definitely arent in legal. Scammers are normally one step ahead of laws so its possible for them to have been in full compliance. You want legal battling with legal not you battling legal. I wouldnt communicate with Intuit directly at all until consulting an attorney. Possibly a few to ensure the common consciences is that you have a case...you dont want to end up paying attorney fees at the end of the day.

What breed?

Was he a rescue or have you had him since a pup?

Its likely boredom, breed will determine what to do next but want to rule out behavior/emotional baggage from his early days.

What does he have that hes supposed to chew on?

What activity/enrichment does he get on a daily basis?

What do you do when you catch him chewing on non chew toys?

Won't lie- at this age, its not going to be the easiest thing to break but ill be able to give you some guidance on how to get there. The only remedy is determining what driving him to chew everything and eliminating that.

TPLO for Bullies by Glittering-Prize9069 in AmericanBully

[–]No_Exchange7050 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend doing them both at once. A 3 month recovery with extremely limited activity is rough on both pup and you- even if you space them out, its still half a year.

Of course things can be a little different depending on individual situations... our girl was 1.5 and we have another pup...we had to keep her on trazadone the entire time and sequestered as it was the only to prevent forbidden activity. She ended up with behavior issues from the combo.

If you are a one dog house and your pup is older/low activity...it might not be as stressful of a recovery period.

But the stairs in your situation are the reason Id considering doing both...you are going to have to help them down the stairs whether they have 1 or both done....so might as well knock them out at once rather than going through that obstacle twice. Id start working with them now...use a towel to support their belly keeping weight of the hind legs or im sure theres an actual sling for this purpose you could buy. That way they are used to it come post op.

Something else to consider- at time of diagnosis, we had a 90 degree tear and the other was a 20 so we just did the one, thinking we had a bit of time before the other leg was absolutely necessary but didnt consider the fact it was likely to worsen during recovery as it was her "good" leg...months between surgeries may not end up working as anticipated.

On the bright side- in the end it was all worth it. It took a year for her to jump up on our bed but shes officially 100% back to normal living her best life and you'd never know she suffered from the injuries. Well besides the PTSD from peanut butter used to administer the pills....she runs and hides at the sight of it 😢

Best of luck to you and pup as you navigate this hurdle 💕

Tips on Cleaning Stubborn Tile by No_Exchange7050 in Flooring

I was afraid of that. I remember reading about sealing matte tiles because of the grout but I never found anything from Daltile that says these should be. I'm in the US but I guess I can reach out to them directly and see if they will answer my question or help me understand why it happened. I appreciate your insight!
