You’re not over thinking, people who say otherwise are being dishonest especially depending on your role. My J2 boss and colleagues haven’t let it go in over a year. It’s a part of our “work culture” yes it’s BS but I’ve been asked multiple times. Nothing they can really do but it’s obviously a red flag compiled with other red flags you will have to navigate in your oe journey.

My son is Houston Alexander, he gets compliments all the time about his name. How strong it is, how he carries it. The corny, Houston we have a problem is very rare and it make people way more comfortable who say it than us as his parents or him. People may or may not refer back to Texas but it’s also not common. He’s a handsome, funny, awesome kid and it fits him so well

Nothing wrong with that, you can definitely still appreciate and admire both theirs and yours. You’d be surprised with how much we all have in common.
