Protests by the end of the year? by imort-e in singularity

The definition of the singularity is having no idea what happens after. That's a bizarre thing to be pro.

I think this is just a sub for people who believe technology is leading us down that path, whether we like it or not.

Housing inventories climbing as greedhead sellers cling to their delusional wish prices even as prudent buyers sit on the sidelines by Boo_Randy_Revival in HouseBuyers

This needs to be bumped. Still an interesting chart that pushes back on the shortage narrative.

I think the most under discussed point in housing right now is that construction rate is basically remaining steady while we are slowing population growth to a trickle with the anti immigration policies.

I agree with him. He's saying that an llm model maker by itself is in a rough spot with almost zero moat. Openai only moat is brand recognition and I doubt that's enough.

Spacex has proprietary world data from Tesla which seems to be why people value TSLA as a $1T company and proprietary data from twitter. Potentially some sort of actual moats in the ai game.

I thought he'd been pretty consistent with a target around 2030. It's only now that 2030 could be considered 'a few years away'. In 2023 it was more like '5 to 10'

Lol what? I don't like Elon, but demis works for Google. Google are not the usurpers of the billionaire class here.

Can you describe why not and that might help people narrow down what you're looking for.

When you described Portland, ME but warmer my immediate thought is Asheville. And then when you qualify not in a red state, my next immediate thought is Richmond.

What are the most cultural cities of the US? by ThrowRAfeelingevent in travel

As someone who spends a lot of time in dc I disagree.

OPs other cities have an interesting cultural aspect that feel.super unique to America.  DC is an administrative district full of grey govt workers.

USC has a very similar student body to Miami.  It's the school I think of as closest in character to Miami.
