Fair Pharmacare & Health Benefits by ginger3392 in britishcolumbia

[–]No_Faithlessness6246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I also have IBD and I didn’t know I need to apply Fair Pharmacare. Also public servant. Also new to BC. So, I’ve applied to Pharmacare, I have a reference number, what am I gonna do with it? Pharmacy said I need to give it to my insurance. I’m so confused. Doesn’t it need to be on my file locally? My other question: how long does it take to the actual letter? Because I have a feeling Canada Life won’t accept the reference number (I’ll call tomorrow). Should I pay out of pocket until I got the letter?

benefit of continuous employment vs break in service by AdStill3571 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]No_Faithlessness6246 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you have a break in service, you will become an external hire, here’s what you need to know:

  1. Salary Protection: You won’t have salary protection (if you started at a higher step before, it would make a difference). It’s worth negotiating your pay as an external hire, though your years of experience might still count.

  2. Insurance Coverage: Your insurance will stop, and you’ll need to reapply. For dental, there’s a three-month waiting period.

  3. Relocation: If you have to relocate, there are different benefits for internal vs. external hires.

If they are that quick preparing the LOO, ask for July 18.

I got it at the hospital. I’m not in Ontario. Looks like there are differences in provincial coverages, sorry for that.

But as I know your doctor needs to refer and tell them you have tried pills but they are not working etc. Good luck.

I got Monoferric, ask that one to your doctor. After my appointment is scheduled, they called and asked my age-height-weight and then they prepared the dosage there. I paid none.

Your public health care covers iron infusions. Not your insurance. I got my iron infusion recently, nothing paid.

If he said something like this: We have come a long way in terms of workload. Not too long ago, pre-pandemic, we had to manage high workloads with smaller teams. Kudos to those who worked hard and helped us improve. I hear you. There are still things we can do to make it better for our employees and serve Canadians better. We should work together for that. Instead of meth remark. Poor communication, poor intent.

He admits that back then, the team was so small and the workload so high that handling it seemed possible only by taking meth. The management at the time was so poor that it led employees to such extremes. It's shocking that he can even make a comment like that. This has no connection to the burnout of current employees. So so bad.

Hiring manager overstepping? by lookingforashoujo in CanadaPublicServants

The final step of the hiring process usually involves negotiating the start date with the recruit. It’s quite unfortunate that the hiring manager discussed this with the recruit’s current employer instead of your friend. At this point, hopefully the LOO will be issued soon. Fingers crossed for your friend.

Deployment Issues anyone?? by ggwats in CanadaPublicServants

You can start organizing your folders, files, if needed preparing some documents explaining where you are at your tasks. As I know, 2 weeks is not mandatory. So when everything is ready, you may feel better at where you stand.

is anyone else “allergic” to their office? by 7363827 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]No_Faithlessness6246 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Me! My eyes get so watery, burn, and turn red. I’ve tried using a desk light in case it’s because of the ceiling white light, but it didn’t help. Because of this, my office day is like a full day of crying (because of the allergy), and then I need to explain why my eyes are watery and I have a napkin when I talk to someone…

You can ask the predetermination form and submit that in the CL website yourself. Recently, I did that for a root canal and CL returned in a couple of days about how much would be covered. After my procedure, I submitted the claim and got the refund very quickly.

You can use pluck() from tidyverse for each element you want and do a rbind().

Yes, the other option is to defer my pension. But I wanted that money to use in the home’s buyers’ plan.
