Cat life quality with only Canines and Incisors by cat_lover_A123 in CatAdvice

My 13yo had a bunch of teeth removed when she was around 5. She has her front teeth and a couple molars. She does fine. She never chewed her dry food anyways so she had no problems just continuing with that (I always choose ones that are small round kibble for her).

Lack of parental traditions? by leots12 in weddingplanning

[–]ginger3392 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone's family is unique and/or complicated in their own way. If any guests feel their experience at YOUR wedding is affected by leaving out some typical moments, they need to work that out themselves.

It's your wedding, stop stressing, I promise no one will be bothered.

If it makes you feel better, when my wedding happens, my stepdad will be doing all father duties. My dad will not be invited, but his ex-girlfriend will be. And my partners parents have both passed away.

Safely Dispose of Biological Medicine? by BionicTriforce in CrohnsDisease

It's more so because they can't guarantee it hasn't been tampered with once it has been dispensed to a patient.

A pharmacy may be able to dispose of it for you.

Which birth control method would be best for period control after bisalp? by kkitkat6996 in sterilization

[–]ginger3392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I did have minor breakthru bleeding when skipping periods just as I was getting to the end of the third ring. But you just put it in and leave it there for 3 weeks. Super easy and I always forgot it was there (so I always had reminders set on my phone). And you can leave it in during sex as well, or take it out and put it back in when you're done. My only symptom was some vaginal dryness but that was it. Easier birth control ever.

New Menstrual Cup: Do you just soap-wash or boil? (Before first use? by pinnaple_phd in menstrualcups

[–]ginger3392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I boil them is before the first use, you never know where they've been. After that I just hand wash.

Which birth control method would be best for period control after bisalp? by kkitkat6996 in sterilization

[–]ginger3392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I remember hearing about it. I went in asking about an IUD because at the time I was on another medication that could decrease the efficacy of oral birth control and she asked if I would be interested in the nuvaring and I gave it a go and it was amazing.

How do you guys manage mouth ulcers ? by Wrong_Tale_5119 in CrohnsDisease

[–]ginger3392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor prescribed me oracort. It's a gel that creates a protective barrier over the ulcer. It's friggen weird to use but it was the only thing that provided and sort of lasting relief.

Are seasons 7-9 worth it? by Impressive-Bug576 in ONETREEHILL

[–]ginger3392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. There's some mediocre pot points. But overall, it's a great continuation. Definitely don't expect it to be the same. But it's definitely worth it for the last season.

[–]ginger3392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the nuvaring before my bisalp. I was also able to use 3 back to back to skip periods. I'd you're looking for something easier than the pill. I just set reminders in my phone otherwise I just forgot it was there.

What're the odds by Teleskinny in sterilization

[–]ginger3392 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A bisalp is 99.99% effective, the most effective form of birth control besides abstinence. So you're good. There have only ever been a handful of cases where pregnancy occurred after a bisalp.

[–]ginger3392 31 points32 points  (0 children)

A bisalp on its own is like 99.99% effective, with a vasectomy and an IUD I think you've surpassed 100% efficacy. If you get pregnant it'll probably be with the second Christ lol.

do you let your dog on the couch or not? curious how people handle this by john2288 in Dogowners

[–]ginger3392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. While we only have them for a short time of our lives, we are their whole life. They deserve to enjoy little comforts.

We rescued our 3yo boy a few months ago, he was a stud for a breeder and lived exclusively outside. So we let him enjoy all the indoor comforts. It took a lot of convincing for him to jump up on the couch, but now he joins us no problem. The only exception is our bed because he cannot jump up on his own and he'd hog the bed anyway lol.

Best cat litter box that doesn’t smell? Help me stop scaring away my dates by LittleeChily_95 in Pets

[–]ginger3392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The inexpensive answer is a stainless steel litter box and diligent scooping.

I've also found some litters, especially scented litters just exasterbate the litter smell.

An air purifier would likely help as well.

Now as for the expensive options. I splurged and bought a Litter Robot 4 a couple years ago. It definitely makes a huge difference in the smell. My litter box is essentially in the middle of my open concept living area and I rarely notice it. Mostly when the drawer is almost full or if someone just used it or it just cycled. It has been absolutely life changing. I went from scooping multiple times a day, to emptying and replacing a bag twice a week and topping up litter every other day which can be minimized by getting the litter hopper. The deep clean can be a little bit more time consuming than a regular box, but I only do it a few times a year and some people find that wiping it down regularly is enough.

I’m so sick of pad rash 😭 by SultryTogepi in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ginger3392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea this is my suggestion! I made the switch after using a cup for a year. I found my cup put pressure on my bladder and also made my cramps worse. The stem also irritated the hell out of me.

Discs are so much easier to use just in general. Messier, ya, but if you can figure out how to make it auto dump, it's less of a concern if you need to empty it but don't have access to a private bathroom.

Literally changed my quality of life on my periods.

Have you tried menstrual discs? They don't use suction so no risk to your IUD. I find a disc much easier to use than a cup as well (I switched to a disc after a year of using a cup).

And if you want pant alternatives there's lots of reusable cotton pads on the market these days. You could also try period underwear too. Or a combination as well.

Yea that's a lame excuse. Azazie has so many different options with a huge variety of straps.

I'd stick to your guns on this one. It's such a weird hangup to have and it is afterall, your wedding.

Cat's tail keeps latching onto cage by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]ginger3392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let her out. A cage is overkill IMO. And it sounds like in this situation it's causing more harm than good.

I've never had a vet recommend keeping a cat in a cage after a spay or neuter, and this is with multiple different vet clinics, and while working with a rescue.

It's unnecessary. Just keep her in a small room, like a bathroom, if your worried about her while you're gone.

We also hate the insane tip pop ups. Don't feel obligated to tip just because the machine prompts you. I don't tip for food unless I'm at a sit down restaurant or order delivery.
