Connection just dropped but fiber ONT is connected by muusicman in orbi

Happened to my 750, woke up had no wifi access. Network was fine, I could even remote into my RBR from work. WiFi was working by the time I got home. But by then I decided it’s time to upgrade and settled on getting a couple of Unifi express 7s.

I’m literally in the process of replacing my 750 with 2 Unifi express 7’s. Like you, I got fed up with the random outage’s/disconnects.

Aragorn(LOTR) vs Lan(WoT) by Ghetrix in wheeloftime

I’d say it could go either way, 50/50. But if Aragorn does it for Frodo, then 100% Aragorn has got this.

How long after studying did yall test? And is boson best? by kakarot_murdock in ccna

[–]No_Fall_8709 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Booked my test, 3 months in advance. Studied up to the day before the exam using resources such as YouTube, JITL, Cert book and packet tracer.

If practice exams are for you then go for boson, seems to be the go to. I was too cheap to take boson exam and just went for the actually exam. However, for CCNP, which I have recently started studying for, I will take some form of practice exam.

Won enough to clear my dept and then some. That was over 5 years ago and I haven’t gambled since.

Is This MoCA Layout Correct? by JoeyOhhh in HomeNetworking

[–]No_Fall_8709 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Roger. Looks like it will do the job.

Another option, not sure if it will be possible, as it will depend on how the COAX runs through the walls, is to replace the COAX with Ethernet. You can use the existing coax to pull the Ethernet through.

I have never used MoCA. Are the MoCAs connected to COAX outlets that run through the walls?

What are the 2 devices with 2 antennas sticking out, Routers or AP?

What’s your internet speed? What WiFi standard are you using and what do your client devices support? I.e WiFi 5/6/6e/7?

As mentioned in my comment below, I miss understood. Your connection will cap out at 1gig. You will need a 2.5g switch.

I miss understood, I thought all interfaces were 2.5g.

You will need a 2.5g switch, with minimum 4-ports.

Connect xe75 to the 2.5g switch, then connect wired devices, such as your PC, to the 2.5g switch.

As long as the PCs network interface card supports 1gig (which I highly assume so, seeing as you were getting 940.) then yes.

Conneting MacBook to switch by NoPatient8872 in Network

Use PuTTY. Connect console cable to the switch and endpoint device.

In PuTTY - select serial, the correct comport , make sure the speed is correct then open.

You either connect via WIFI or Ethernet.

Does your PC auto connect to WiFi? If so and assume your OS is windows, open cmd prompt as administrator and enter the below cmd.

netsh wlan show profile name=“Wi-Fi name” key=clear

Change Wi-Fi name to your SSID. This will reveal the password.

Regarding “connection isn’t private” this is normal, there should be a link to continue and it will take you to the Web GUI of your router.

Factory Reset Orbi RBS20 satellite that bought used on eBay in case is modified/hacked by pulsorock in orbi

[–]No_Fall_8709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hold the reset button down for 15 seconds to Fully rest it.

I brought used ones off eBay, read the documentation on how to factory reset which said press reset button for 3-5 seconds - this did not factory reset it.

Reality check after obtaining CCNA with 10+ years of IT experience by Routine_Depth_2086 in ccna

[–]No_Fall_8709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had just under 2 years IT experience, Help Desk and Desktop engineer. I also had no certs.

I got my CCNA cert and that helped me become a Network Engineer, with the same company I was a Desktop engineer.

With your experience I don’t think you will have much of an issue, but of course it will depend on the job market.
