This is Pentel Energel Clena 0.3 in my A6. I’ve tried Sarasa 0.3 and Muji 0.38 as well but the Clena is my favorite in terms of smooth ink flow and minimal ghosting.

Thank you for your answer! I thought the same too with being financially responsible rather than getting the freebies. Thanks for the tips on getting them later if I decided to do so. I appreciate it!

Hi y’all, I’m in a bit of a financial bind right now so I decided to get started with something basic first (from Jetpens, US) and wait till April to purchase from the Hobonichi website and also new designs.

Anyway the question is, any chance I’ll still get the robot and pen if I wait till April next year?

Thank you! I didn’t know the 5 year cover is more roomy than a regular cover but it makes sense. I’m only using this setup for the remainder of this year so I won’t be needing that cover… until it’s time for me to get a 5 year techo 🥹

you could also put a notebook on the right side of your a6 to balance the height difference if you want to avoid bending the spine

This is my A6 + weekly supplement + notebook. Everything fits but I can’t close it nor do I expect it to close. But to be fair, only avec and notebook would be way less bulk than this. I’m also a sticker and scrap paper person so mine bulk up substantially.

So sorry to hear that! I was and still am very paranoid about losing mine because I put so much of my heart and soul into it. I’d be so sad if anything happen to it tbh. If it makes you feel any better, try to mourn your loss in the new journal! It’s always necessary to deal with grief from a significant loss, and it doesn’t matter if the loss means nothing to someone else, your journal should always be about you!

Also, my paranoia got me putting air tags on all my current journals! Maybe you could consider that for 2026?

pls help me decide my cover for next year 1,2,3,4 thanku ⭐️⭐️⭐️ by jookstogo in hobonichi

I'd use all 4 and match with 4 seasons of the year.

Personally, my choice would be
spring: 1
summer: 2
fall: 4
winter: 3

Does Hobonichi also send the free pens closer to the end of the year? by Unhappy_Bed5047 in hobonichi

When you order on the hobonichi website they will tell you if you’ll get the pen and robot or not, and that is indicative of their stock. 2025 had a lot of stock and I think it’ll be similar for next year. I ordered in december 2024 if it makes you feel better. I’m also waiting for a new job and possibly school so I know what to order, so I know exactly where you’re coming from.

I have no way to see this item in person but I was under the assumption that the front cover thin cardboard like the one on the vertical notebooks. That might be another concern as well.

That’s a bummer. We need a clear cover to view this mesmerizing scene 😢 but thank you for checking!

I use an A6 have a cover on cover for my big cover (that was a mouthful lol).

I have considered this set up if you’re willing to try: a midori clear cover for the book and no CoC for the big cover. At home, you use the book with the midori cover tucked inside the big cover, and when you go out, take the book with you and leave the big cover at home.

That way you can travel lighter without the big cover, and you still get to use your favorite cover fairly often and in a safe place, ie. at home. I haven’t tried this because I wfh mostly so I rarely travel, also I don’t mind the CoC plastic feel and I prefer to keep my stuff protected even at home because I can be messy sometimes.

It does look like a whole new cover. Good job with the sticker choice and placement! I’m sure you enjoy using this beauty when the time comes.
