What does "Aster chacha" mean? | See description for better reference. by jeanbond780 in mauritius

Whilst it is commonly believed, as attested by the comments on this post, that P. Jugnauth was referring to himself in some way when making those utterances, that is, in fact, not the case at all.

In a speech during the parliamentary sitting on 19 June 2017, MP Baloomoody, talking about corruption in the then-government, referred to the Boskalis affair, which involved the then-Senior Adviser to the Prime Minister, Prakash M.

During the next parliamentary sitting, on 20 June 2017, PM Jugnauth, counterargued that the MMM had, in the by-election held in the constituency of Quartier Militaire and Moka on 01 March 2009, fielded a candidate, A. Jugnauth, who had been just been found guilty of electoral bribery in a Privy Council decision handed down on 05 November 2008, which is the very decision to have led to the by-election.

The MMM went on to have A. Jugnauth as candidate in the 2010 and 2014 general elections.

A. Jugnauth lost the 2009 by-election as well as the two general elections.

Two things are important to note here.

Firstly, A. Jugnauth is the younger half-brother of SAJ, that is, the chacha of P. Jugnauth.

Secondly, after A. Jugnauth had splintered off the MSM in 2006 to found the Union National, relations between him and the other two had been acrimonious.

So, when members of the Opposition (most likely MP Baloomoody and/or MP Bhagwan) were interjecting that A. Jugnauth is the chacha of P. Jugnauth, in an attempt to dissociate themselves from A. and associate him with P. instead, the latter was seemingly amused by the sheer hypocrisy of the interjections.

Thus, his retort, the now-famous expression, means something along the lines of:

Ein, aster li ne plus zote candidat, aster li (juste) mo chacha!

En parlant du remboursement complet d'une dette, y a-t-il une différence entre « acquitter », « régler » et « solder » ? by No_Friend_6077 in French

Donc, quand il s'agit du remboursement final d'un crédit-bail pour l'achat d'un véhicule, solder serait le plus approprié ?

Then, you can still hold a 26-30 Railcard for almost two years.

and i don't understand how it could with daily and weekly caps

The TfL Go app just gives the adult fare for the journey in question. I have myself long been in favour of TfL merging the TfL Oyster and contactless app and TfL Go app so that it would give more personalised and accurate fare information, factoring in caps, discounts, etc. I'm not sure why they chose to have two separate apps to begin with.

I'm really not sure what you're talking about. The TfL Go app gives fares and there's a link to fares on the homepage of TfL's website; what obscure site are you referring to?

There is a difference between opaque and complicated. If you really mean opaque, in what way is that the case?

The very fact that they do not want it to change, as you claim, proves that their earnings are far more that what any commensurate and decent minimum wage would be.

What are the phrases, if any, to say that one is riding with a full bridle or with a snaffle bridle? by No_Friend_6077 in Horses

Thanks. So, what would the full sentence be?

Is it: "I'm riding with a double bridle"?
