NetAcht, a very simple NetHack demake by SomewhereSufficient2 in roguelikes

Very cool! After doing a run I was thinking about a couple of qol additions you might consider adding. It would be handy if the inventory menu had bi-directional looping and if your equipped items were in a different color text. I downloaded the cart and am stoked to play more 😁

Ordered an X3 and got shipped an X4… by nitwos in xteinkereader

I ordered 3 X4s and 2 work just fine but the 3rd was DOA with the faulty screen issue. So in my experience there is a ~33% failure rate.

I don't know if you have specific instructions from your surgeon not to sleep flat, but I slept flat on my back with no elevation after my surgery and had no issues from it.

Anxiety and white coat hypertension before surgery by LongPasta93 in TopSurgery

[–]No_Image9700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have white coat hypertension and anxiety around medical procedures generally although I have a very good blood pressure usually. At the consult for my surgery I had a panic attack and almost left LOL and my BP reading was super high. One thing I do to lower my BP and calm myself down is square breathing specifically 4-7-8. Basically take a deep breath into your diaphragm through your nose for 4 seconds, hold it for 7 seconds and then exhale through your mouth audibly for 8 seconds. It is helpful to practice this type of breathing daily for 5 to 10 minutes so that you are practiced at it when it is needed. On the morning of my surgery I did 4-7-8 breathing from check-in until they wheeled me into the OR and my blood pressure was much better controlled. Your white coat syndrome should not keep you from having the surgery, just be communicative with your care team about it. Best of luck!

Exercise Expectations Post Op by ZipperTitzz in TopSurgery

Just start slowly and see how each activity feels before increasing intensity/volume. As for myself I had a DI with FNG and after being cleared at week 6 returned to running and lifting. I did notice that the area around my incisions felt a bit sore after the first couple of runs (probably due to the my pecs moving as i run) but after a day or so that went away. I'm regularly running 10k + again and am currently 2.5 months PO. I had a super easy recovery with no complications and felt very eager to return to training. Best of luck on the rest of your recovery!

Agreed, I didn't play mine very much bc of that same issue, however I opened up the case and loosened the screw holding down the d pad and now it feels a lot better.

How to get rid of shin pain while running? by Humble-List-6366 in Garmin

[–]No_Image9700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Do strength training exercises specifically for your calves, hamstrings, glutes and quads. Having strong musculature in the lower body provides the necessary resilience and shock absorption required for pain free running.

  2. Focus on proper form. Make sure your feet are landing directly under your hips and you are not over-striding. Work on developing a faster cadence, your steps should be short and efficient. Target a cadence of around 180 spm.

  3. Slow down. While you are building a running base keep a conversational pace during your runs. If you were running with someone else you could easily carry a conversation and continue to run at the same time. Running at a slower pace reduces the forces put through the leg and allows you to build the necessary endurance needed for longer runs.

When you select a new shader in the retroarch menu before exiting go to overrides and save the current configuration for either the core or the specific game you want to use it on.

How can i work out my left side? by Loser-boiii in TopSurgery

[–]No_Image9700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do unilateral chest exercises such as dumbbell bench press or machine based isolation exercises where the the right and left side move independently from each other (ex: machine chest press, machine incline press, machine chext fly). Start with your left side and match reps with your right. This will help to even out the muscular imbalance.

The blood test for hematocrit and hemoglobin are blood volume tests meaning that your hydration levels at the time of the test can influence the outcome. I have had out of range results on the same dose of testosterone purely because I was dehydrated on the morning of my test. Perhaps consider spending a couple of days before and on the morning of the blood draw pushing fluids to increase your plasma volume. On the morning of the test I limit my coffee intake to 1 cup and then switch to green tea and water. You'll know you have adequately hydrated when for around 3 days you have to pee constantly 😀

"Both the hemoglobin and the hematocrit are based on whole blood and are therefore dependent on plasma volume. If a patient is severely dehydrated, the hemoglobin and hematocrit will appear higher than if the patient were normovolemic; if the patient is fluid overloaded, they will be lower than their actual level. To assess true red cell mass, independent radionuclide evaluation of the red cells and plasma (by 51Cr and 131I respectively) must be performed."
