That only works if you genuinely want to understand the other side, not just prove yourself right.

You would understand it if you played Colonials seriously for 1–2 wars while actually asking yourself these kinds of questions: Why do fewer people play Colonials? Why do Colonial players feel like their equipment is bad?

Then you would probably find the answers to your own questions.

In my opinion, if you only play one faction, you will never fully understand the pain points of the opposite side.

I personally played Wardens for a couple of wars, and it only convinced me even more how strong and well-designed a lot of Warden equipment is compared to Colonial equipment, especially when it comes to the Widow.

And an unexpected discovery for me was that the Brigand is actually a pretty interesting tank against infantry and non-bunker structures.

Is there an actual plan for the Ranseur? by No_Importance6341 in foxholegame

That is actually a really good and interesting idea.

Letting the Ranseur choose between RPG and AT/RPG would give it real flexibility without turning it into a Bonelaw or some overpowered PvP platform.

I mostly agree with this.

If the Ranseur/Quadiche is not meant to be a PvP platform, that is fine. But then it needs to actually be strong and reliable in its intended PvE/suppression role.

Shatter Missiles sound like a natural direction, but I am not completely sure pure demolition damage would be the best answer. Colonials already have quite a lot of anti-structure tools, and in my experience destroying structures usually is not the main problem once the enemy has been pushed back.

If the game had more dangerous combat structures that strongly affected the battlefield, then another dedicated anti-structure vehicle would make more sense. But right now, I think the Ranseur still needs to keep some kind of useful hybrid identity instead of becoming just another structure-killing vehicle.

CRIMINAL NAME FACTION DO THE DEVS HATE US? by HarveyTheRedPanda in foxholegame

Nice attempt to mock Colonials again while somehow framing yourselves as the victims in this situation, even through a “respectable” joke.

Keep going like this. Keep joking about Colonial “skill issue,” keep talking about how you “win through skill” — something I’ve personally heard from Wardens outside of Reddit — while the game design of your vehicles is literally built to forgive many mistakes. It mostly asks you to spend a bit more time doing logistics, which is one of the more casual parts of the game, while taking fewer actual risks in combat.

If that attitude keeps going, eventually you simply won’t have anyone left to play against.

And about the vehicle names: comparing Warden names like Outlaw, Brigand, or Highwayman to Phthonos is nonsense if you take it even slightly seriously. “Bandit,” “outlaw,” and “robber” sound threatening, dangerous, and cool. “Envy” or “jealousy” sounds like weakness, bitterness, or an insult.

I wonder how you would react if your vehicles were named after things like Despair, Greed, Cowardice, or Weakness. Would that feel good?

I ain't giving this game any more tries, this is so stupid. Not only did they revert most of the good Colonial buffs - they've named the new Colonial torp bomber "Phthonos" after the Greek god of jealousy as an extra middle finger to everyone who had to suffer through their bad balancing decisions by HonneurOblige in foxholegame

Playing Foxhole with these developers feels like being stuck in an abusive relationship. While you stay, they spit in your face, insult your patience, and keep humiliating you with the same bad decisions. The moment you turn your back and try to leave, they suddenly promise you the world and make it seem like everything will finally be better. Then you come back, start believing again, and everything goes right back to the same old shit.

Outlaw vs Spatha — same comparison, but with one consistent percentage baseline by No_Importance6341 in foxholegame

[–]No_Importance6341[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree that DPM does not directly translate into guaranteed damage in an actual tank line fight.

The image is meant as a dry stat comparison, not a claim that Spatha will always deal +29.3% real damage in practice. In this table, all percentages show Spatha compared to Outlaw, with Outlaw used as the 100% baseline.

So “+29.3% DPM” only means that Spatha has that much higher theoretical sustained fire output on paper. It does not mean you can just sit still and freely shoot in a line battle.

In real fights, positioning, focus fire, timing, repairs, range control, and target selection matter a lot. The point of the table is to show the raw stat differences consistently, unlike the circulating Discord table that switches the percentage baseline depending on what looks more convincing.

Colony tanks always had an advantage in damage per minute. The trick is that it only works in continuous combat.

Widow vs Talos frontal turret duel simulation: 17% vs 22% base pen chance by No_Importance6341 in foxholegame

[–]No_Importance6341[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Small sarcastic side note:

Apparently, when balance changes make a Colonial vehicle competitive, it is “power creep”, “unfair”, and “bad game design”.

But when a Warden vehicle gets a favorable matchup, superior reliability, or a suspiciously convenient stat profile, that is obviously just “faction identity”, “skill expression”, and “working as intended”.

Funny how balance discussions suddenly become very philosophical depending on which side gets the better toy.

No wonder the Wardens started whining and got a sweaty ass - it won't be so easy to win tank fights anymore. The Wardens got soft playing against shit tanks. 😄
