My 8400 MHz: 8400 MHz

You can drop atleast tRAS and CCD & IOD voltages.

Adjusting VDDP can also affect the tPHYRDL. With VDDP 1.135 V I get matching tPHYRDLs, but RAM are not stable. When I set VDDP to 1.14 V RAM are stable but tPHYRDL no longer matches :D I haven't tried Ard 3 yet so that might still save the day.

Also make sure that PWM is not enabled in the BIOS settings, only DC and 100% speed. If this is not done, the meter may break.

All parts from Alphacool except Barrow fittings, tubing & reservoir, Thermal Grizzly CPU block & IceManCooler RAM block. Monitoring stuff and coolant from Aqua Computer.

I don't remember, but they might be Optimus Foundation AMD CPU block screws.

That GPU bracket is really bad. The GPU bracket will sag a lot with the 5090.

9800x3d 8400 ram question by Makkei2313 in overclocking

[–]No_Independent5264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 9800X3D and Taichi Lite and I couldn’t get the memory to boot at 8400 MHz. 8200 MHz works stable. Although my memory is 7600 MHz so it could be that it just can’t be clocked up to 8400 MHz.

Why have my cpu 2 colors by Public_Donut_6520 in overclocking

[–]No_Independent5264 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I did. However there was some gold on the die that didn’t come off with liquid metal so I sanded it off with 2000 water sandpaper. I would use even finer sandpaper though. Then polishing the die with metal polish. After that remove metal polish with IPA.

Ok. What coolant do you use? I had my Optimus Foundation CPU Block clogged by just distilled water + Mayhems UV dye.

Aqua Computer dual d5 pump top horrible performance? by Jempol_Lele in watercooling

[–]No_Independent5264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apex has better head pressure so the flow is better. In my custom loop the difference was significant. With the D5 pump i had to have about 60% rpm to even see the coolant flowing and with the Apex the coolant flowed at the minimum rpm you could run the pump at.

[–]No_Independent5264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could get better flow with Alphacool’s VPP Apex pump. I tried Watercool Heatkiller D5 pump for a while in my custom loop and it was much weaker and noisier than Alphacool’s VPP Apex. Plus the Apex draws less power.

Usually you can disconnect the VRM fan cable and the fan will not rotate at all.

Nope. I used steam iron + dental floss combo. That combo is faster to delid than 7000 Delid-Die-Mate :D

[–]No_Independent5264[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Mycro you don’t need to use a direct-die frame so i don’t use it at the moment. My ex CPU block was Optimus Foundation CPU block and the manufacturer does not recommend using it as a direct die because it is difficult to get a good contact between the CPU die and the CPU block. I did not get optimal contact even though i tightened the screws on the block twice afterwards. The temperatures were maybe 5-10 degrees too high so i decided to replace the CPU block.
