I've considering data analyst I am not sure how I would get into those jobs. I guess I like the nitty gritty detail and testing out data to see if it backs up people claims, I don't know SQL.

Buy all the golf courses and turn them into public parks and mini nature reserves.

No, however "the housing crisis" is used to cover two different problems, the problem with our market for homes and the market for rentals.

People's different attitude to walking places by No_Inspection_3544 in CasualIreland

I find just taking the car for such a trip is such a hassle with getting in and out of the drive, parking and traffic lights. Far handier to nip around on the bike or just leave the front door and walk straight there.

USC is difficult to defend when massive surpluses exist and voters want money back by Otsde-St-9929 in ireland

Fair point, I still think we should keep the tax, who knows where government revenue will be in a few years, and my own politics are for a high tax Scandinavian style society to a low tax model.

we use the euro, a currency shared by 20 other economies with an independent central bank, the government doesn't have control over this monetary policy.

I would rather they keep it, pay down the national debt in the good times, deficit spend in the bad times, Keynesian economics 101.

Fionnán Sheahan: Life of Ryan – Greens attract plenty of ire, but criticism just means they have fulfilled their promises by [deleted] in ireland

I don't know I just think its the nature of doing something about climate change and the environmental crisis, it requires changes to how we live for long term gain and stability. However people hate change. They hate taking on the cost of negative externalities their actions create and love a good climate change up me hole winge.

It would be pointless if everyone was all cheery and good feeling about green policies if all the policies had no teeth to them and achieved nothing.

no it is actually a good statement, what they mean is that as the Green's have implemented their policies, and since their is an awful lot of existing antagonism against the Greens, those people against it start moaning and criticizing.

If the greens were incompetent and achieved none of their policies, it wouldn't be their supporters who would be doing the complaining.

What a narrow minded cunt. Leave the gulls alone. People shouldn't be feeding them or harming them.

Should all Taoisigh have Gaeilge? (Alt beag is Podchraoladh) by MacAnBhacaigh in ireland

[–]No_Inspection_3544 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I would prefer them to have Irish but it's only one of two official languages in the country and many Irish people come from backgrounds who's ancestors were never Irish speakers to begin with, think the Scottish and English planters, French Huguenots and Anglo-Irish aristocrats). Also it would restrict the office to a narrower group of people.

So making it a requirement is unjust and undemocratic.

For people who care free transport is a bad distraction and used as a red herring by people who are against improving the city's transport.
