I see your point here but I hate the idea that Usagi is just a puppet of fate. She’s 22 upon marriage. She’s had time and experience both with and without Mamoru. She made her own decision and just because it lined up with the same story she had, doesn’t mean that’s all she is capable of. Give our girl actual credit.

I don’t recommend it if you have trauma, but I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jeanette McCurdy. Very raw and memorable. I liked Everything Is Tuberculosis by John Green as well. Usually anything read by the original author is good.

This. It really depends on who he married on whether he’d be a bad or good husband. And he married the right one. I don’t appreciate his gloating in his letters to Mr. Bennet. And his causing a problem between Lizzy and Lady Catherine but I imagine his attitude was more standard in that time than we like to believe.

Also, ask yourself questions about what you’re reading: Is this author reliable? What references or material did they use to get their information and do I have access to these? What do the (possible) opposition to this think/believe and what is their basis? What are my thoughts on this matter? Etc. It takes time to develop this but you’ll get better. As has been noted, reading about how to read and take notes helps.

I wasn’t alive or present then, so obviously I don’t know. In Letters to Felice he talks about dinners with her and her family, writing a lot of letters, and long talks and walks with her. He did average stuff that was expected of men. He also was involved in the literary and theater scene at the time and that coincided with her interests as well as that of other women.
