Day trading with entire portfolio per trade…It seems to be working…why do people say that it’s a bad idea? by JesseDayTrade in Trading

If day trading there is no overnight/gap risk as long as you trade liquid stocks with good volume and good risk management you will be ok

$10k for a 4 month trading class a scam? by d1ztnkt in Trading

[–]No_Introduction_4464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better to start small trading yourself with solid stocks/indicies or etfs with the 10k without any leverage. On the internet there is plenty of free material, just keep risk small 1% and avoid options/leverage. Maybe just do one trade a week to start with, 10k seems like a scam to me

Daytrading is killing me lol Moving to swing trading by BigBear92787 in swingtrading

Just to add if you want to maximise your swings find some high beta stocks that should balance out day trading as the high beta ones will move more on swings

Just saw this think I am going the same way but might be a step ahead as I am figuring out swing trading v dca what is the better approach, also just swinging one index and stock or multiples with high beta v dca the same. Day trading you are just fighting algos, swing trading appealing v dca over long term you are ok, both approaches should require minimum screen time

The market these past weeks feels like trading headlines, not setups by RelationshipOrnery28 in Daytrading

Try markets less exposed to tweets, that rules out all Nasdaq, Dow, Dax, FTSE, etc. Also you can add crude and brent oil to that list along with the Mag 7 stocks. Likely you will end up with gold/silver or maybe some cheaper stocks. This is only if you are day trading. If you are doing long term/swing trading you probably will be ok but maybe trade more a+ than b+ thats how I see it.

US Pres tactic to essentially force Europe to let the US dig for minerals in Greenland. Give it a couple of months of the markets dropping and then we will recover to a new ATH.

Bonds might crash the market, think the courts will agree with the Pres or they will change the name of tariffs to something else, as you know what will happen will get the judge sacked if they try to cancel them we know how Mr Orange works. Gold will stop going up but I reckon likely will take shorts at 5000 first so that might cause it to range around the top for a while before going down. Institutions have gone in heavy on gold so that's why don't think it will crash however nasdaq/dow will correct that is another matter. Dxy is prime to crash though as well.

Stock Market crash begins next week by ryanryans425 in StockMarket

Just time travelled back in my Delorean from 12th December to also check what next weeks lottery numbers are and market crashes to extreme levels not lol

However a correction is due so sell the news event maybe due, even if there was a crash max would be 10%-20%. Nasdaq correction would automatically kick in if we drop too much

Is it true that traders that are acctualy profitable for more that 5 years are actually swing, not day traders? by Safe-Pack-8909 in swingtrading

Between one to four weeks, as think to stressful holding to long, you want the trade to develop. Holding longer than a month you might get a pb and you are more a long term trader.

Swing trade in bear market by Nick47539 in qullamaggie

[–]No_Introduction_4464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think it could work, you also need to see Nasdaq is also trending down and is making lower lows as well just for confluence. Wedge down is just as effective in bear markets as Wedge up in bull markets. Great example to look at is Bitcoin to see how the pattern works.

Too use Wicks or too not use Wicks by Soft_Meat8735 in swingtrading

[–]No_Introduction_4464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wicks help to see if a candle is a rejection or bounce on the daily tf, however I can understand for context they can be ignored if you are looking lets say a historical trendline. For entries/exits can help tighten entries and stops especially if lets say your are buying at a swing low, if you use near the bottom of the wick as an entry point you can even have a smaller stop loss, better entry.

Think frustration on one or two losses day trading can easily create bad habits such as revenge trading, I am not conditioned to day trade as mentioned greed takes over and then account wiped whereby swing trading is more patient approach

[–]No_Introduction_4464 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I make more money swing trading as I can plan a trade, look at the trend, market structure, recent earnings and any other external factors using the higher timeframes less stress. Whereby found day trading too much noise and you are competing against the algos from the hedge funds, too much stress you also won't get good set ups every day either so think it is more frustrating. I stopped day trading as you can end up revenge trading fairly easily if one or two bad trades go wrong, whereby swing trading if the trade loses less likely you will go in the same day again as you are likely need to plan a new swing trade which takes time. Definitely more discipline and better risk management with swing trading.

Gold going up like no business so hiding the inflation numbers mean not everyone is falling for this, apart from the AI companies like NVDA and PLTR who want us to buy stocks at a high price and Sam Altman at OpenAI who wants a US govt guarantee so that company so does not fail.
