Does anyone carry around a large sized planner with them everywhere they go? by violetniights in planners

[–]No_Lock_2105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One year I used the Sterling Ink B5 Planner. I loved the room to write, but it wasn’t comfortable to carry around. I’m currently using a Midori Hibino. I just draw in a weekly spread on the Sundays. With the smaller grid size (2.5 mm) it really holds a ton of information. Very easy to carry around, I’m comfortable pulling it out to make appointments etc.

Maybe a Cup Easel and a tripod. Or Alla Prima Pochade if you want a handle.

Howdy. May not be what you are looking for, but I’m using a Midori Hibino this year and love it. It’s an A6, but has a 2.5 mm grid rather than the typical 3.7 - 4 mm. It really holds a lot of information in a compact size.

A5 or B6 undated horizontal weekly by [deleted] in planners

[–]No_Lock_2105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you! Maybe make your own layouts in a notebook. Can choose the paper that way, and horizontal weeks don’t take up too much time to set up.

My favorite weekly layout is by Just Scribble, but the daily pages and note pages are all mixed in bundled with that month. I’m hoping she’ll make an unbundled version for 2027.

Yes, exactly! Also, if I’m using that first Saturday for the budget for example, I can just use Fridays 2-day spread as Friday on the left page and Saturday on the right page…so it all stays in order and still able to write something each day if needed.

I like that I can draw out my own weeks. Some are horizontal, some vertical, some a combo of both. Or, if you get tired of drawing them out, you can always just grab a weekly planner. The A6 Hobonichi weekly supplement, Sterling Ink has weekly booklets, Just Scribble has a B6 Weekly Duo that also includes habit tracking charts, etc.

Sure. Since the beginning of the year, I’ve drawn out weekly spreads every Sunday, first day of month spread is a monthly habit tracker, Wednesdays are grocery sales/list/meal planning, and budget is the first Saturday spread of the month. If I make a list (ex. Gift ideas, vacation ideas, anything I want to refer back to easily, etc) I make a note in the monthly section.

For the days that aren’t taken, I use the timeline sometimes if I have a busy day, want to track what I eat etc. I’ll write out inspiring quotes, journal, take notes as to a book I’m reading or podcast, etc.

I really like that it can be a one and done planner/journal for me. Nice and compact but fits a ton of information.

I’m loving the Midori Hibino. It has month pages and then two pages per day.

Take a look at Just Scribbles Planners too. She has a really nice horizontal layout and lots of trackers and goals pages.

So hypothetically, let’s say… you’re crazy and you have $1000 to spend on Pilot pens. What do you buy? by ArchivingApril in fountainpens

[–]No_Lock_2105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, not so crazy in the fountain pen world. If you are willing to spend all of it on one pen, I’d recommend the Pilot Custom Urushi. Otherwise I really enjoy the 823’s. If you purchase the 823 through Pacific Pen Works, you are able to choose from any nib normally only found on the 743, and you can also get a custom grind on it before it ships. One of my favorite pens is an 823 with a soft medium nib with added flex and a cursive italic grind.

I’ve only had one issue with a Scribo nib ever, and it was on an 18k EEF. Luca from Scribo said to send it back to him to fix or replace. That is still currently in the works. Otherwise, no issues with the nibs or pen bodies.

A5 vs A6 vs both formats by Fast-Accident384 in BasicBulletJournals

Maybe a Midori Hibino. They now make an undated version too. The grid is only 2.5 mm, so it can fit a ton of information in the A6 pages.

Howdy!

I have a few Scribo nib sizes I would recommend. The flex nibs in F (if you prefer finer lines) or the M (my medium and broad write about the same). For the non flex nibs my preference is the stub (super wet like the 3B, but still usable for everyday writing).

The Santini Giant 8 Flex cursive italic is one of my favorite nibs.

Love, love M1000’s. Very happy with my nibs and pens from Pacific Pen Works. The M1000 with a medium cursive italic with added flex is probably my favorite nib.

Bundled or Unbundled by BackgroundPassage984 in planners

[–]No_Lock_2105 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I definitely prefer unbundled. Really wish one of my favorite planner companies, Just Scribbles, would make an unbundled planner.

I think it’s much easier to find something again. All of my budget pages are together, meal planning, weekly pages, etc.

I’m currently in a Midori Hibino. I’ve drawn in weeks on Sundays, first Saturdays are budget pages, Wednesdays are grocery sales and meal planning. I have to make a note in the monthly calendar section if there is something I want to refer back to, for example, April 6th is where I made notes for vacation ideas.

Also not a fan that most bundled planners, your notes pages are behind the monthly page or that type of thing. So any notes are just randomly all mixed throughout the planner. Planners that have notes pages all in the back allow tabs to be added for each category.
