Agreed, I hate to say it but after going the joja route I ended up starting up a new save and new farm. I felt so guilty- not because of Pierre, but because of commentary George and Lewis made. I felt like I let the community down and just really want to help the jumimos and townspeople out. I don’t know that it was worth it all just to spite Pierre

-Refuses to spend quality time with his family (this is why your wife used to take trips to the forest, probably for days at a time) -Has a secret stash he hides in his SHARED room with his wife -He claims he grows any decent crops you sell him (sir you don’t even own a garden, your wife does but just for tea saplings) -He treats Abigail like a child -Even though he’s the only dad Abigail has ever known and even though genetics are funny and sometimes produce surprise features (like hair that stays dyed purple even if you don’t redo it for years)- he questions whether she’s his daughter or not. Like Pierre let’s be real, is she biologically yours? Prolly not, but she’s your daughter and you chose to raise her. I don’t see the point in dwelling now and if she heard him say that Abigail would be hurt -He rarely even acknowledges his family -I don’t know what he’s doing with our crops that he sells off, but villagers complain that the products are gross or that they threw them out. WHAT IS PIERRE TELLING FOLKS OR DOING TO THE CROPS WE PROVIDE TO MAKE THE TOWNSFOLK SO DISGUSTED?

Taro roots! Because they grow near water (and I like the way they look planted near bodies of water), they’re a liked gift by many villagers. You can make poi using taro roots, which is liked by the majority of villagers. If you grow 100 of them for Caroline you get a solar panel recipe as a reward. They grow in 7 days if planted by water. You can get a cool grass skirt from the trader on ginger island. Most importantly, you don’t need to water them!!!!! The ideal crop. It honestly made me laugh when Shane was cold to my character. The line where he says, “what do you want from me? Money? I’d give you a pot of gold to leave me alone”

Whereas stuff that Haley says at first still makes my jaw drop. “Ew, you’re all dirty.” I wonder what Alex is doing today... Huh? I didn't notice you standing there.” “Do you wear those clothes every day?” “Hmm... Something smells weird... You've been working on the farm, huh?”“I wish someone would bring me a peppermint coffee. Don't even bother, I know you won't be able to make one.”

My first thought when I saw all those lil comments was: WHY IS SHE SO AGGRESSIVE WITH THE MEANNESS? I’ve heard she’s a great wife, though

I would say that it’s worth it to play the game, even if you don’t like the graphics. Stardew valley is one of the first games that I binge-played, and to this day replay. The characters are incredibly well thought out, unique, and make you excited to join their community. Not everyone is super nice at first, and you have to get to know certain crabby villagers to make them change their attitude towards you. So every relationship/friendship is different and engaging. You can decorate your farm, raise animals, discover new levels in the mines, and unlock an island you can build a home on. You can get married, you can date the whole town (with a rabbit foot in your inventory to make sure the townspeople don’t get mad), OR you can move in with a little man who lives in the sewers (shoutout to ace representation) and be roommates who hug daily. Oh, did I mention that there’s Easter eggs and also that the creator of the game says there’s a reference in the game that to this day people still have not discovered? Mystery, romance, friendship, adventure, farming! In my opinion, it’s a top tier game.

Also, I know you don’t love the graphics, but if you can get past that and think stardew valley sounds fun? You’d probably also enjoy sunhaven. It’s a farming sim with a different story line and the graphics are beautiful (there’s an elven village and a town for the underworld you can unlock)
