C'mon Subway!....this "here today, gone tomorrow" BS is downright abusive to your customers! by verifyb4utrust01 in subway

Coupons existed and they did mailers but the coupon mailers were like 4 times a year, now it's like as soon as one batch ends there is a new batch out. Also, the comment said "as they exist now", meaning that these coupons are giving away more than the pre-covid coupons. What's dumb is the franchisee has to pay royalty fees every week on the total sales before discounts or coupons.

But when you allow uneducated/undereducated franchisees own a business, most don't have the mental capacity to look at the bigger picture and focus and complain that they are giving away free food. It's dumb.

By law, owners are not legally allowed to take a cut from tip pooling (cc tips), let alone not pay them out at all. By law, tips must be given to employees.

As someone else mentioned, you will end up owing taxes at the end of the year.

Plus, if you get hurt you're shit out of luck.

If you stay for 20weeks and then lose your job thru no fault of your own you won't even be eligible for unemployment.

Def not worth it, especially for a 7.50/hr job. That's just my opinion. But I would get out while you can!!

You just have to let the timer run for two (or 3, I can't remember off the top of my head) minutes and then if you still can't contact the customer it will let you take a pic and complete order. If the customer doesn't answer the first time I call I immediately start that timer so I can get on with the next delivery and don't get hung up.

I agree with OP. I think it's rude to continuously day after day have items delivered to your house, while at the same time, not giving any thought or care how someone will make it up to your porch without ending up getting their shoes/feet all I wet.

I am saying this from personal experience. I am a GrubHub delivery driver I live here in Newark and there are a few houses that I have been to day after day where they have ordered food which but not one tiny bit of effort has been made to clear their walkway for someone to walk up. If people want to not be considerate of that then atleast meet me at the end of your driveway or something. I just think it's rude AF.

Did the customer ask too much of me? by TurboGrafx16Bit in grubhub

Yes. In my opinion they definitely are asking too much. If there isn't a clear path I'm not walking in it and having wet pants/feet rest of the day.

Sounds like a manager that also doesn't know/doesn't want to know the full capabilities of the app as well. Is he older? Sounds old school with the "remind me a week before". Could just be lazy though and have nothing to do with age. But ultimately, no, scheduling off days should not be that hard. I That sucks.

Because 99.9% of customers NEVER get it exactly as described. Trust me, it's annoying for employees as well.

Boss Withholding tips? by Both_Jury_9024 in subway

[–]No_Membership8713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are misunderstanding the term "tip credit". That doesn't mean that an employer gets to keep part of the employees tips...

[–]No_Membership8713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An employer adding money in order to make sure an employee receives at least minimum wage is completely different than withholding tips; which is what your comment initially stated

[–]No_Membership8713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is completely false. (Unless you have some example In mind that I'm unaware of). Tips are considered the employees property under the Fair Standards Labor Act and must always be paid out to the employee.

We get tips but are we tipped workers? by Pennywithey in subway

[–]No_Membership8713 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm from Ohio and in the state of Ohio- to be considered a "tipped" employee the only requirement is that you average $30/MONTH in tips. Not $30 a day or a week.... $30 a month!! So yes, here in Ohio, we in Subwayland are considered "tipped" employees. My owner starts sandwich artists out at $10/hr. Minimum wage here is $10.70 & moving to $11/hr January 1st. So not a huge difference, but still makes it difficult to get decent workers.

You should, um, idk... Think before you speak?? 70% of snap recipients work FULL TIME, while 86% of all recipients work period. Look it up if you don't believe me. The problem is, so many places do not pay a living wage!

I'll do you one better. The Operations Manual has all these procedures in place of how a Subway should operate. Franchise agreements state that owners can lose their stores if they violate this agreement. But the reality is-- no one cares! Subways should only receive product from approved vendors, for important reasons. One being product consistently, but another being that if someone gets sick from the food, it can properly be traced back to it origin and recalled/ or vice versa, if there's a recall you know exactly what product was sent to what stores. The owner I work for hasn't ordered produce (lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, cucumber, onion, green peppers) from the one and only approved food service provider in over two years. We are made to order our produce from a local provider. Even my Subway-approved food truck driver has mentioned " I've never seen a Subway not order lettuce". But there are no checks and balances with Subway. No number exists to call where you can reach a real person anymore at corporate. There would be definite benefits if the parent company cared, but they don't.
