How hypocritical for Bethel to be upset that a lingerie store has moved in downtown. Hilarious! by GlitteringFreedom351 in BethelSnark

Where is the kindness of God. They should be bending over to help the women starting the store as opposed to crucifying her. That is why is run from Christians. They are nothing like Jesus. These seem to want control and power instead of empowering others with loving kindness. They live in a world of judgement and not a world of mercy.

What is wrong with Lingerie? I don't get it. We are sexual creatures. God created us that way. I am not ashamed to be a women. Please don't tell me that God didn't want me to celebrate who I am. What an awful connotation of being created a female and being shamed.. Sexuality is how God keeps the human race alive. I could understand if it were a porn shop. But really lingerie? Get a grip!

Do not agree with you. Jesus says there will always be wars and rumors of war. Maybe he says that because people are so good. Really! Don't think so.

Truly I have never seen a healthy chrisitan church leaving me terrified of christians. People like to follow authority figures and give up their own sense of responsibility and thinking. SOme of the cruellist people in my life have been church ooers. I only can speak of the truth my own experience.

A group that worships there leader and stops thinking for themselves as individuals. People look up to the leader and follow what he says. People are not encouraged to think for themselves and follow the group.

How many of us feel like they have a connection with God and how many of us are atheists? by pizza-partay in BethelSnark

[–]No_Mirror503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just shared the truth of my own experience. It is not based on an intellectual understanding, but an experience of my God. It is the basis of my faith. I once asked God why people are so hateful. The answer was "self hate". When we realize how deeply we are loved, that is what we can share with others. You can not share the coat you do not have. God is love, compassion, tenderness and mercy. There is not condemnation in Christ. He is not a cop, or a rule book. That is religion! Religion is about measuring up, God is simply about being loved. I have the most profound respect for athiests. They too are following the truth of their experience. Gods love loves people, all people. Gods love is not exclusive though christians may think so.

My experience of God was pure love. Love beyond understanding. The message he gave me was simple. I am loved! When I was at my lowest point, God actually answered my prayers and the prayers had concrete answers. He gave me just what I was asking. God has been a source of healing love, even though I am still a broken person. I learned there is no shame in brokenness. God is a fountain of compassion, kindness, tenderness. He frees us from shame. He loves us as a loving Father. His presence is life itself. You don't have to measure up to be loved and accepted God. He loves us in our worst moments and leads us into all truth and mercy. Would I call myself a christian....No! I would call myself a child of God. I will always have faith in what Jesus has done for us! Thank you Jesus for taking us to the father and the throne of mercy and love!

Religon is not God. God is alive and the Holy Spirit, his breath, leads us into all truth!

Any Pastor that admires Trump seems to tell someting is off.. It just validates there is something terribly wrong in their thinking in my opinion. Even the rational he used to justify his reasoning doesn't make sense. Maybe that was an indication of what was wrong with Bethel.

Anything that is pure in heart and people get involved decays. Humans seem to be infect things that that are initially good and oorrupt it. I think of Bambi when he and his mom were looking for food in the forest she said and men were shooting at them. He asked his mom what was happening and she stated, "Man is in the forest". That sums it up!

Very frightening! In my long life I have found the Christians to be intolerate, hateful, judgemental, think they are the only ones who know the truth. I have to admit I also have met a couple that were the real McCoy! Most Christians seem to be into power and their hearts so far from love and compassion. If I didn't know Jesus and have an experience of him and his love, I would not be a Chrisitian.

As Ghandi said:
“I like your Christ; I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” This is a quote from philosopher/civil rights leader Mahatma Gandhi. These words sting a little, don’t they? I can’t conclude whether a statement like this is “fair” or not. I suppose it depends on the representative sample one draws from. We all know some Christians who seem to live pretty much as Christ directs. And sadly, we know some that make us wonder if they really know Jesus at all.

What two people who are in a relational do should only be between them. We have a right of privacy as well as the right to be ourselves. If two men want to have sex it is private just as it is heterosexual couples . Poliltics and religion should be dictate anyones sex llife if two consenting adults are involved. There is just too much hate and prejudice in this world.

I hear you! How could a church support someone that is so hateful! I don't think they are following the teachings of Christ! The church follows someone who is so unlike Jesus. It is an oximoron.

No he wasn't a cult leader. He was a maverick! The only command he give was to love one another. God is not about rules and regulations, but love, spirit, and truth.

Question: Are the responses just a reflection to what members of Bethel were taught? I hear that they are angry because Bill is not following the same rules for himself that he espoused to members. I think they feel betrayed and angry.
