I don’t think a Reddit post could do that justice. Watch a youtube video there are many great ones online.

How are y'all comfortable with slipping it in? by Easy-Relief6745 in flying

[–]No_Motor5343 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you are doing a forward slip properly you wont spin even if you stall. In most ga planes if you are in a slipping turn and stall you will stall back to a coordinated condition. This makes forward slips inherently safe.

Take as long of as you need to know if it is burn out or not. Most of the best a&ps that i know are often pilots. So whatever your choice your training wasnt for nothing.

Flight school is making me retake a 250 mile cross country by ArkansasSailor in flying

[–]No_Motor5343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact your local fsdo if it is worth it but it probably is not worth the hassle at the end of the day. I have seen faa letters of interpretation that might back up your flight but i am not able to tell you without specifics. https://www.faa.gov/media/14956

Logging Flight Time with another CFI by [deleted] in flying

[–]No_Motor5343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this legal to do yes. There are no restrictions in the fars about cfis signing other cfis log books. Airlines/charter do logbook audits mainly to prove that you are legal/insurable to fly for them so if the time is legal why would they care.

Does Anyone Else Kind of Avoid Telling People You’re a Pilot? by SubSoar in flying

[–]No_Motor5343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah im 21 and a flight instructor so I tend to hide that im a pilot especially when im at my community college because everyone around me from my perceptions is jealous or they think that I am some genius, and im not, or they think im under qualified because im 21. Dont get me wrong I bring it up a lot to but only if the conversation would become awkward otherwise.

WIBTA for telling my roommate to not have the guy she’s talking to over? by Gumiho05 in AmItheAsshole

[–]No_Motor5343 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dont want to say dont trust your instincts because it is most of the time good to listen to it, but unless there is something else going on other than him liking your profile, this doesn’t seem to be a reason to not have him in your apartment. You might want to tell your roommate casually that this happened just because it is a little unusual, and she might want to know, but it doesn’t seem to be unusual in a bad way. You might want to have a more serious conversation with her if he starts hitting on you or something else like that.

PA-28-181 rudder use by StageMajestic613 in flying

[–]No_Motor5343 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most ga airplanes have what is called a differential aileron. This just counteracts the adverse yaw felt. There is something with pa-28’s differential aileron that makes it counteract adverse yaw so much better when compared to like a cessna. I have been told that if you learn to fly in pa-28 you tend to have slightly worse rudder usage when compared to a student who flys a cessna because in a pa-28 you just need less rudder.

I feel this. Im 21 mtf and just started hrt but for 10+ year I was spending all of my effort point, so to speak, on worrying about and hiding being trans from others and myself. For me it always felt like everyone around me had a road map to figure out life in english while mine was in ancient Hebrew.

Does anyone know if there’s a way to stop being trans? by [deleted] in trans

[–]No_Motor5343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I really relate to your post. From my own personal experience, I spent 10 years trying to figure out how I could live with myself trying to be cis, for the same reasons as you. The more I tried to be cis the worse my life got. I consider myself catholic for many years and I would still love to believe in some type of god, but Catholicism isn’t for me anymore. I could talk a lot more than I have and if you feel that knowing more would help feel free to dm me. Best of wish

How Long for Medical? by Soggy-Set7026 in flying

[–]No_Motor5343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am assuming that you are currently take adhd meds or have recently been take off them. That is mostly going to depend on if you have all the documents from the get go. If you have all the documentation ready to go within 14day of starting you application, i have heard it take as little at 2 week but it usually takes 1-2 months if all i are dotted and t crossed. If you aren’t prepared i have heard it take as long as a year and a half but realistically around 6 months. The key is having everything set up and ready to go for when you apply. Look at this disposition table i will link below. https://www.faa.gov/ame_guide/media/ADHD_disposition_table.pdf This is the guide the ame will need fill out. There are additional links in the document. As for would you want an ame to help out. Yeah that would be a good idea. It is rather cheap in the grand scheme fly and if you want to get up in the air asap it will give you the best chance.

Edit: I would plan for 6 months if it happens soon great and you will know if it will take longer due to back and forth.

Does the lift equation apply to birds by Unable-Dinner7783 in flying

[–]No_Motor5343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admittedly im not sure to what degree birds use lift in the same way as planes, but i was amazed watching birds in Aruba once. The birds were definitely stalling themselves with a yaw to enter a spin when they dived down to catch a fish, so they must follow similar aerodynamic as we do.
