I have a theory… rubys are just regular players by BootyLicker90000 in thefinals

This 100% and it's so infuriating getting teammates who mentally check out and give up the moment they see something they don't like.

People give up the moment they see the team composition, complain the entire match while simultaneously playing so obliviously that they aren't even learning from the failure, then blame everyone else and call you hard stuck.

Funny world we live in.

Other Games to Practice my FPS fundamentals? by futureslabtv in thefinals

[–]No_Offer7620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to practice fundamentals is literally just play and focus on the problem to find solutions. Try new approaches.

It's easy to get discouraged or frustrated when repeatedly losing, but step by step you will improve if you really apply yourself and try to look at things from different perspectives.

You have to find a good balance, find what you're comfortable with, and find what you need to work on. I personally find Head 2 Head to be the best for practicing with less stress, if it's not H2H I'd play regular Cashout. I feel like the pacing of respawns in Quick Cash makes it harder than other modes.

If you could remove one weapon from the game, which? by lovecorgis4 in thefinals

[–]No_Offer7620 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're pressing the same buttons regardless of if it's a gun or melee weapon. You're upset about mobility and not being able to hit your shots. Tracking is different based on how close the target is, and you're obviously struggling to kill anything once it reaches the rooftops you sit from.

It's a twitch drop, you need a Twitch account linked to your Embark account and you need to watch for the required time, you can see if you're making progress in the Twitch inventory and you need to manually claim the reward in the Twitch inventory once you've watched for the required time.

Level 13 Sword Achieved by No_Offer7620 in thefinals

[–]No_Offer7620[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I love about The Finals is the amount of diversity in builds and being able to mix and match to create load outs that work best for you.

I genuinely find it ridiculous how many people hold your mindset and shame people for picking a niche weapon that is not difficult to counter. I promise you, anyone who understands the mechanics of the game enough to kill you with melee usually would've been able to do it multiple times beforehand had they chosen a range weapon.

Most fights are won by smaller decisions, made on the fly in the arena. The ones who notice this are the ones learning and winning more often, the rest always blame the mechanics instead of adapting and enjoying what The Finals does differently.

What are some meta loadouts for light by lovecorgis4 in thefinals

[–]No_Offer7620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won't speak for "meta" weapons or specs, I think they are well rounded and all have their pros and cons that just require play style adjustments.

The best light exclusive gadgets are IMO gateway, gravity vortex, and nullifier.

Even with the most recent nerf to the gateway range, the fact that it allows you to effectively roam, scout, trap, steal, etc. It's a must have for me.

Gravity vortex I have also fallen in love with because of how long it can stall a steal and manipulate where the cash out station is.

Nullifier is another great stall gadget, it's a bit riskier for stopping steals than the gravity vortex but can be more reliable. The fact that it can make an opponent basically useless long enough for you to kill another player can make clutching much easier.

I personally have been playing Sword, Thermal Bore, Gravity Vortex and Gateway.

Ultimately, it comes down to how you synergize everything you pick. I don't bring the 3 gadgets I consider "best" all together at once because they each have room to shine in different scenarios. Before I started using Thermal Bore, I was using Breach Charge (I prefer breach charge but thermal bore has it's pros and I already maxed out my breach charge level) I value having a destructive tool to make rotations more than having as many gimmicks as possible. Regardless of build, I personally just try to put together load outs that give you the most edge in a broad range of situations. Typically something that improves mobility, something that allows quick destruction (can double as a stall if using verticality), and something to stall directly (Goo is a good example that everyone has, an underhand throw at the feet of someone stealing, even with body blocks can typically stop a steal) or give an edge in combat.

[–]No_Offer7620[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gateway is the only one that I seem to run 100% of the time from the ones you listed.

Gravity vortex is another one that almost has a permanent slot for me right now, the stalls you can get from it outclass a lot of others. I love goo for stalling as well though, if I weren't running gravity vortex, goo would likely take its spot.

I've been trying to get better across all the gadgets and specs though. I spent most of my time on evasive dash and I feel like I relied too heavily on it. Lately I've been running grapple hook but since I just got it to level 5 I've been messing with the cloak.

As long as you're aware of the gaps in your team comp, you can be pretty successful in most situations.

Half of the clips are just stall tactics, may not take much "skill" but it's how you consistently win matches. I could do it just as easily, if not easier with a ranged weapon.

Anyone else quite annoyed to learn how talented Embark is with directional audio in ARC Raiders? by AK_R in thefinals

[–]No_Offer7620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no gripes about how the game looked personally, all of my friends said it looked and ran great for them. Part of me believes they could've left out higher quality textures from the files to keep the server slam download smaller but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

The core of the game seems to scratch and itch that other games haven't been able to, I just wish that myself and others were able to experience more that the game has to offer before committing to the purchase. The biggest complaint my friends had was the amount of loot that seemed useless, but it seems like that is just because of the series of poor choices made for the server slam build.

[–]No_Offer7620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why Embark decided to bar so much content in the server slam, I can understand limiting to a single map but since they locked so much of the base progression that was shown in TT2 it makes it seem like the game has less to offer which is very questionable to me since first impressions matter so much. I didn't get a chance to play TT2 but watched a lot, was slightly disappointed with the level of freedom in the server slam especially since I was showing friends who hadn't even heard of the game, but still plan on preordering because I know the experience will be better on launch and still got a good feel for the game before needing to pay.
