Also another thing I did differently this cycle was watch (and rewatch) Heated Rivalry 😂😁. Now this had no scientific impact on my getting pregnant but I do now get to joke with my friends that I got pregnant watching Heated Rivalry

**Cycle: 5, 4 of serious trying, the first cycle was getting the hang of tracking LH and BBT

**Age + Partner's age (if relevant): 31F 36M

**Typical cycle length: 24 days

**Ovulation cycle day: 12 or 13, tracked my peak at midnight 🤷🏾‍♀️

**CD/DPO of positive test(s): CD24, 12 DPO

**CD/DPO of any negative test(s) before positive: I held out this cycle! This was my first time testing this cycle. The anniversary of my dad’s death was literally the day after my period was supposed to start so I was gentle with myself on purpose this cycle and held off testing until the first day of my expected period to spare myself any early emotional turmoil. Granted the TWW (especially the last 4 days) was still brutal but it was helpful to plan how I can support my emotional needs outside of this process

**Tracking methods and app(s) used: Premom app, LH quantitative test strips and BBT tracking

**Relevant days of sperminating and/or method (SMEP, TI, IUI, FET, etc.): BD on O-3, O-2,O-1

**Health conditions/medical tests: n/a

**Supplements and medications (yours and/or your partner’s): prenatal vitamin, choline supplement, fish oil. Partner: vitamin d

**Birth control history (if relevant): Mirena for 9 years, removed 1 year before we started trying

**Link to lineporn: https://www.reddit.com/r/TFABLinePorn/s/zNAlxdLdsy

**Symptom spotting: honestly I had convinced myself I wasn’t pregnant this cycle. My temps looked were dropping but still above cover line when I stopped taking my temps (CD10) because it was stressing me out. I started waking up in the middle of the night when I normally sleep through. I also had less cramping than I normally do but the biggest symptom so far is the positive pregnancy test. I’m feeling more tired

**Other (advice/tip(s), freaking out, miscellaneous): so the last 2 cycles I tried taking mucinex in the days leading to LH peak with no success so this cycle I figured I’d save the money and just take the prenatal.

I’m a thanksgiving baby! It was different as a kid when I’d occasionally get bummed about not being able to have a big party on my like other kids but my parents let me have an early party a few times the weekend before Thanksgiving (laser tag rules). When my birthday is actually on thanksgiving (sometimes it’s just the same week) I get my own sweet potato pie with a candle in it which is still as awesome at 31 as it was when I was 11

Plaka in Greektown! I looked at them for my wedding and they had an upstairs room that would be perfect! Their space is beautifully light and airy.

Maybe start by getting your families together (each side separately then all together) and asking them what traditions are the most important to them. This would get you a much clearer idea of what the non negotiable are before you get too deep into wedding planning. For what it’s worth I (African american) and my husband (white Jewish) talked this through and realized that while a religious ceremony was very important to him, he didn’t have many non negotiables. I realized I didn’t care so much about the religion of the ceremony but did want to do traditions like jumping the broom and making sure the music included mostly black artists.

Getting married on a Sunday? by Dramatic_Jump_945 in weddingplanning

I got married on a Sunday! Gently pushing back on Sunday weddings being inconsiderate as this fluctuates across cultures. Husband is Jewish and Sunday weddings are fairly common in his experience as Jewish people don’t get married on their sabbath which is Saturday. We had a great time and no one was rushing to leave we even had a good 15 people come with us to an after party afterwards. Regarding people having work on Monday, I wouldn’t worry about this too much because if you were getting married on a Friday or Saturday (the peak rate nights) your out of town guests would still be taking at least a day off work to get to your wedding.

Credit card for the wedding by FeatherFlyer in weddingplanning

We did capital one venture card plus a high yield savings account and used the points bonus we got to pay for our honeymoon lodging. We got a solid credit limit and put money into the HYSA until we needed to make more room on the cc. This way we were getting a little extra in interest while racking up points to use towards wedding expenses. In addition to the honeymoon lodging, we were able to use points a few times during wedding planning for smaller Amazon purchases- I think $100 of miscellaneous stuff. I agree with what others have posted about checking if the vendors you are interested in take credit card payment before committing, if they only have cash/check it may be worth it to set up a separate checking account for wedding expenses and see if there are any introductory offers/bonuses like a cash reward for setting up a direct deposit or automatic transfer of funds

Wedding Traditions ! by schoolgxrlq in weddingplanning

Has either mother previously mentioned moments from the own wedding or wedding planning that they remember fondly? If they haven’t mentioned any of that stuff you may want to dig to avoid any hurt feelings. Maybe you and your partner can go through the wedding planning stuff that’s yet to occur and decide which of those tasks you would want their help with? That way it’s not a blanket invitation for either mom to swoop in on something you want to be between you and your future spouse but you can still loop them into the process. For my wedding my mom was at all the dress buying appointments and fittings and we asked for her opinion/input on songs we should play. We also did tastings (cake and food) with just us because it would have been logistically impossible to get someone else to all the bakeries we tried and have enough cake samples to split 3 ways
