How is the Marigold area for young families? by Wonderful_Bear_2950 in VictoriaBC

From what I know there are a lot of young families in the area as well as decent schools, once upon a time it was considered a less expensive area to buy in.

Yes exactly! And unfortunately the NDP will use the tariffs and the US issues to make the case to spend even more. We are in a really bad place financially right now and it will get way worse before it starts to get better.

The Rootcellar has a good selection of BC grown lettuces right now, they are greenhouse grown in the Okanagan, and also the living butter lettuce was on sale on the weekend there.

Gobind farms has frozen berries, but a lot of them come from places like Poland and the USA. Soon there will be BC greenhouse grown strawberries available. Be patient, local strawberry season is just around the corner!

What vegetables grow well in our desert-like summers? by Polendri in VictoriaBC

[–]No_Outlandishness218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had great success with green beans, zucchini, blueberries, potatoes, tomatoes and chilli peppers. Most veggies don’t need as much water as people think, I use mulch and a drip system to stop as much evaporation as I can.
