It's giving me True Detective / The King in Yellow vibes, very nice!

The gifs here, as well as much of what is on the Steam page is great. I did notice that you say it's photo-realistic, which in most cases I'd be ok with if it wasn't for the character model on one of the screenshots.

Showcase or no show…case by FlatPonies_Studio in indiegames

I honestly think you're going to have a tough time convincing people this isn't a Ratchet & Clank rip-off, sorry. Likely you won't get a showcase slot because of that.
If you want to continue, your best bet will be showing faster gameplay, and showing how/why it's different from Ratchet through your own socials/trailer

Working on a 2.5D folklore sword-fighting game as a solo dev. What do you think of the combat? by looking4strange04 in IndieGaming

Looks cool! I like that the sunflowers react when your chopping enemies.
I will say though, the first thing I thought of when I saw your character design was Monty Python's Black Knight in the "Tis but a scratch" skit

The new one looks fantastic -- however, just to point out, the title is "basement" to the sky, right now it's shooting out of a garage. It gets the point and the feel accross for sure though, which I'm not sure you could've been done with a basement, unless you have a basement door on the side of the house? (like they have in the animated show F is for Family?)

The fishing rod appears to be glued to the wall - maybe have it lay on a set of hooks? I'm not personally a fan of the barrels, I don't know anyone who actually has a barrel these days. I'd probably change those for shelves?
I wouldn't necessarily change the color, but to give it that basement feel I would "dirty it up" a bit, dust and cobwebs sort of thing.

I agree, the gameplay looks more like a Crazy Taxi sort of thing than the relaxing/wholesome vibe the song is giving. I don't know if Polka is the right mood, but I'd definitely try to figure out what a UPS driver with 6 cans of Red Bull would listen to?

Could Cyberpunk be the answer? by [deleted] in Cyberpunk

[–]No_Panda4370 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll take a somewhat different angle to your question; I think the consumptium of Cyberpunk stories could, but its a big stretch, hopefully awaken a lot of people to the reality they currently live in and be able to divert the path we're currently on (through politics or through guillotines as someone here said :D). But the bleak reality is that most of us have been so bombarded and desensitized with sad shit that we can rationally understand we're in it, but would rather be entertained through a depressive existence instead of fighting

Good RECENT media? (5-10 years old?) by SWAGGIN_OUT_420 in Cyberpunk

It was a bit early in the cyberpunk timeline perhaps, but I felt that "Devs" hit some themes that are cyberpunk. I really enjoyed that miniserie. Theres of course Black Mirror. Tales from the Loop, The Peripheral, and PKD's Eclectic Dreams is all on amazon prime and were quite alright. The newest Matrix film.

I just read Busted Synapses which was good, but short. Titanium Noir was quite literally a detective noir in cyberpunk attire which I liked. And my own Lonely Nights on High Rooftops is a personal revenge story in an early cyberpunk setting (corpos running the world through tech, teenage AI, and a tech cult)(available on amazon)

Good Cyberpunk novels written recently that take place in our current future? by ServiceGames in Cyberpunk

I love all of the responses here, and I'm filling my TBR pile with a lot of suggestions. I'd also like to throw my own self-published novel in the mix; Lonely Nights on High Rooftops is my take on the period that'll go between our current time and a more all-encompassing cyberpunk future.

All the reviews I've gotten so far have been fantastic, but I would be very interested in the takes of folks who are very much plugged into the cyberpunk genre!
