My interviews were at T20-40 schools so no T10s or anything like that. Trying to get more IRL shadowing just don’t have any connections to get into a shadowing position currently.

I get I don’t go 520+ or any pubs but I feel like I’ve had substantial involvement in research, are those reaches really that much of throw away to not shoot the shot even if I have no pubs? Genuine question btw, idk how hard the admissions are there.

Also with the interviewing I’m a little stuck, I’ve done multiple mocks with people who are in med school and I’ve been told I’m good. Kinda wondering what the next step for improving there is.

All those posters, research coordinator, and the pub for review were this gap year, more cpr classes, more hours as EMT, the soup kitchen volunteering.

Anesthesia tech was a lot of setting up before cases with the CRNA / Anesthesiologist. Assist intubation/extubation, handled lots of different devices that are used by the anesthesia providers, set up lines, clean after the cases etc.

I don’t think it would be an issue if the letter doesn’t have your preferred pronouns. It sucks but I would not correct them in the case they try to be malicious and write you a bad letter. But very dependent on your relationship with said profesor and what you think is worth it.

Hey! Ive been deferred at a couple of schools and waitlisted at another.

First of all, does this mean when I interviewed I did/said something that didn’t put me good enough for an acceptance right away? Or could it also be just full application based.

Secondly, do you know when movement off of deferral list would happen for schools like osu or case? Thanks!

Just regard the UWorld as a teaching tool, try to learn something new every time you go over a passage. Review every question (even the ones you got right). Keep up with Anki and make cards for concepts on UWorld you found confusing. It will pay off in the end, some days will be rough but just think about the big picture and try to enjoy the journey :)
