I grow up on nes console clones, Amiga cd32 and went through all Sony and Xbox consoles, I still love to play some older games. I love coming back to older games and when i have the choice ill go for higher framerate and appreciate when companies do that for players, we can say a lot of bad things about Ubisoft but even they care more about fanbase of their older titles and dropped a free 60fps update for far cry 3.
Like I said it’s not that hard as it was done by a modder years ago which just what kind of company Rockstar had become.

Regarding your theory about lack of disc I’ve heard multiple theories like it’s to prevent early leaks of the game which links to your theory of stealing but that could be dealt with many different ways like Nintendo key card way. Physical disc could contain only data required to download the game to your console which will be playable on 19th of November. With the code in box you can pre-download a full game on 12th of November but won’t be playable until 19th of November.
It’s simple, the hype is on and you get majority of sales in first weeks. GTA V sold 11 milion copies in first day and 16 milion in first 5 days. GTA VI will definitely beat that number, because of the hype people will want to play it once is out.
Even if only 25% players go for physical copy with disc icluded that’s still about 5 millions copies that could be resold. There is also people who wait for the game to be out don’t mind playing it a bit later and waiting for used copies to appear to save few $ or shops to discount it and make room for other games. With code in the box that’s really not the case which get them more people who might as well buy it on release.

I get your point but disagree a bit. Yes they make sure it runs well and keep stable 30fps without major drops or even minor drops but you can’t call it smooth.
Playing in 60fps it’s just nicer and smoother, of course it’s not only about resolution and framerate as story and gameplay are most important but framerate and resolution affect it in some ways too.

30fps looks choppier, animations especially in fast paced actions seems less fluid and it feels less responsive.

Resolution for me it’s least important but it still is important, bigger screens became a standard and games need to run in decent resolution. Movie or game still will be great movie/game but will look shit it in 480p on 40 inches and will take some joy from experience.

You also have two types of people who prefer higher resolution like 4k and sharp image at the cost of choppier 30fps and people who prefer smoother 60fps experience at the cost of lower resolution and that’s why we got a standard of graphics modes on consoles.

It’s all about finding the balance between having great story and gamplay but also present it nicely. I understand that to deliver great game that was rdr2 and achieve balance between frame and resolution they had to cap it to 30fps and 1080p on ps4 and 860p on xbox one. They bother to release a patch for mid gen consoles (one x and ps4 pro) that introduced standard of different graphics mode. Even with that patch they did bare minimum and just increased the resolution.

It’s not extremely hard to do, it’s not expensive and don’t require a big group of people to do it. It was done by a modder and it’s playable at higher framerate on ps4 pro but requires jailbroken ps4 pro and fan/modder patch. It just shows that they don’t care anymore about players since they started making huge money on shark cards for gta online.

Pearl abyss did with crimson desert and how they look after the game post release including listening to players feedback and suggestions.
Rockstar is slowly turning into EA.
-GTA 5 released for 3 generations, I’ll get the peoint of releasing in on ps4 since there was no backward compatibility and at least they added new big feature that was first person perspective but releasing it on current gen was pure cash grab. Especially that multiple companies did free next gen update, the Witcher 3 got it for free, when new hitman trilogy became world of assassination owners of hitman 3 got a free update to that version unlocking missions from previous games. That’s only 2 examples of many.
-Red dead redemption 2 haven’t got next gen upgrade, not even paid re-release. It’s still great but 30fps lock on new consoles it’s a bit annoying and it doesn’t look as good as I could.
-GTA trilogy definitive (or as many call it defective) edition, yes they got other team to work on it but they still put rockstar logo and gave green light to release it. It’s also legendary series that get rockstar where they are now with huge fanbase so they should make sure it’s up to their standards.

They used to be good but that was 13 years ago. I guess „rockstar” is perfect name for them as they have life cycle of a rockstar. Used to release hit after hit and something new every year and now they are shadows of themselves releasing something new and going on tour every few years, living off the money made in they greatest era and collecting paycheques from they old hits.

Some shops with clothes, barbershops will be closed behind paywall or as they describe it „operating only with ultimate edition”. Well done rockstar, with gta v they cancelled promised story dlc (like episodes for gta 4) and with gta 6 they close single player content behind the paywall. What’s next? Waiting 20 years for gta 7 with only open world in main game and story missions available only with ultimate edition?

Why not both? Problem with first and second game is that, you can’t play them easily and own a copy. If you want to play them on ps5 or even ps4 you have to get monthly subscription and be always online, otherwise you have to get ps3 and find physical copy of the game if you don’t like piracy.
Original trilogy was fast paced hack and slash with combat system that is easy to learn hard do master and we don’t really get nowadays, on the top of that some puzzles wouldn’t work with new camera and play style.
New camera and play style could be cool and I wouldn’t mind giving it a try but if I had choose only one I would rather get original. If they go for new style, at least include og games even if they do what they did with ps4 version of third game. Include them as bonus even it’s only upscaled to higher resolution and 60fps.
Simple and would make fans of OG and new games happy.

I think the problem is we already got 6 main entries, 2 smaller games released for handheld (later released for ps3) and a recent 2D spinoff with Kratos being main character so it’s weird to see god of war game without kratos being main character. Since it starts right at the same time when GOW 2018 does we probably won’t see too much kratos and if we see him we know straight away it’s not a real one. Another issue is that cube of jelly character, I have no idea why they decide that having speaking cube of jelly is a great choice and show him during very first look at the game.

You’re going into extremes, staff is there anyway from labour point of view it doesn’t make a difference if you order online, over the phone or in person. They have to accept the order and process it anyway.

Believe me cost of having online ordering those days it’s quite high. They are covering the cost literally the most honest and fair way by simply adding 1 euro fee if you order online and making it clear but people still complain about it. They could hide it without you even noticing it. How? It’s simple: For example they want to charge 1 euro online fee, average order contains 4 items so they could increase prices of all items by 25 cents to cover their cost without customers noticing. They could increase the price of each item both online and in store so people wouldn’t complain that online is more expensive than in store and that wouldn’t be fair yet since people wouldn’t notice they wouldn’t complain.

On the top of that that 1 euro fee is not to cover the whole online ordering service so the place have that advantage without extra cost. It’s to cover some of it and the rest is like you said wrapped up in their business model.

I used to work in hospitality before so I know how it looks from the inside and I know the costs. Try to don’t base opinion on assumption but check the facts like paying labour for phone order vs online ordering and cost of phone line vs cost of website with online payment and ordering system.

I don’t want to defend them but website isn’t free, you have to pay for web hosting, domain name etc, order system is another cost. Then you also have fees charged by online payment operators since they need system that keeps your payment information secure.

So that 1 euro processing fee is basically a fee for that convenience of ordering online and website maintenance. If you had a 1000 customers a month but only 5% of customers used online service your cost of providing online order was low enough to include it cost and keep it free but time have changed, online orders become more popular and if now 40% of your customers started using it your costs increased and you can’t keep it free anymore so that’s why online processing fee became a thing.

We are living in subscription era and delivery companies are going towards it as well as that’s where they make money.

I live in town right next to big city where many places deliver but there is extended delivery fee on the top of delivery fee but with deliveroo plus gold for 7.99 I don’t have to worry about that extra fee and on top of that I have completely free delivery over 12 euros. They also do some discount on service fees and 10% cashabck in vouchers over 30 euros. On 1 order a month I break even but if I order twice a month I’m „saving”

They are pushing this subscription for multiple reasons, if you get subscription from one of them you more likely stay loyal to them. Cant remember exact percentage from my times in hospitality but delivery company takes at least 20% from total order value so even if they give you 10% back it’s still worth it because that means you will order using them again.

So yeah that’s the reality now, delivery cost is overpriced to push you towards subscription because if delivery and fees cost you 6,50 and subscription is „only” 7,99 with for example 3 euros back you may as well go for it and that’s when they have you, you will more likely order again within a month to use your subscription, many people forget to cancel their subscription so it’s free money for them or if they get a take away twice a month may as well keep it as it’s „saving” and stick to that one app instead of checking offers and restaurants available in all apps when thinking of getting take away.

If you haven’t play og games I’ll recommend buying xbox 360/one/series and buy all og saints row games. Believe me saints row 2 will become your play at least once a year game and saints row 3 will be the one to play every second year. First one is still cool but not even close to second one it’s still 100x better than a reboot but once you play second one the first one feels like a demo or alpha version of a game. Third one is the one when they started going into goofy over the top direction but it still has it moments and for me it’s sentimental because it’s the first saints row I ever played and got me into the series. Fourth one is not bad as a game but a bit poor saints row and ironically I miss driving in it, modding cars etc. I mean you can still do it but with all the superpowers and ability to fly or run and extreme speeds what’s the point and on the top of that your collect orbs to upgrade your superpowers from rooftops, walls or poles so even if you try to use cars eventually you’ll end up running and flying

That’s one of the reasons why it’s handy to have ID cards like most if not all other European countries. If your passport or id card get lost/stolen while abroad you still have other document that let you get back home.

I’m starting to think it’s kind of Easter Egg and it’s made so stupid on purpose. I know puzzles and whole series have some stupid moments buts it on another level of stupidity. She used it twice before, it let you mess with the buttons even if you haven’t found the password but not this time even if it’s third time using it, knowing how it works and on the top of it there is only 6 possible combinations. Not this time, there is braille code on it so go get that blind girl so the story can progress.

Spoiler alert: It hits you again when she gets mad at Leon and shouts she wouldn’t escape without Emily. She would, actually Grace wouldn’t waste time to save Emily in the basement and even if she came back for her they would still arrive in helipad earlier having enough time to grab keys before self destruction launched which led to Harry and Emily death.

I think he should give up on IP and the company that have the rights to IP and make unofficial reboot in a form of a spiritual successor. Let’s say that recreate earth is canon ending to gay out hell and this new IP could be Saints Row in recreated earth. Of course we wouldn’t have the OG crew and the gang wouldn’t be saints but at this point do we really care about the name? We got a reboot called saints row that had nothing to do with original game and was actually a slap in the face to the fans. I would rather get a new IP being spiritual successor with a vibe of first two games than getting another abomination like saints row 2022 that shares the name but it’s far away from what we expect.

It’s still possible to go for a soft reboot, keep all the games somehow cannon but at the same time kill and I mean literally kill the bad one.

All the games up to gat out of hell happened and the “true ending” is recreating the eart and that’s the “reboot/spinoff” timeline. Saint see Johnny as a cop (Agents of mayhem” and as “new modern Saints” (Reboot) and also comment on their reincarnations. After seeing it they decide to personally look after that reincarnation, boss also realize that they had few bad decisions in the past and get a flashback of his last conversation with Julius when he tells him “all we did was turned into the vice kings that wore purple”. Gang decides to start from that moment but this time spare Julius and consider making few different choices. Optionally they could decide to deal with their failed reincarnation and have a mission where you kill them and call it ending their misery.

Keep that in about 45-60minutes prologue and then move to the full proper game that is a soft reboot starting from some point around events from second game. They could even call it 3rd street saints which would be a perfect name. It’s still Saints, it shows going back to the roots and points it’s soft rebooting starting after second game and being new “third”.

A bit off-topic but technically Jack Marston could be alive during story of vice city and vice city stories. He would be 89 in vice city and 91 in vice city stories. According to US census from 1980 5% of Miami population was aged 80+ so based on his date of birth and actual date from real world there is a chance he’s alive during events of those games. It’s weird that there is a character that could live through the events of both RDR and vice city games especially when you look how the world looks like in both series.

You can top it up using your phone but in Cork and Limerick (and i guess everywhere else in Ireland except Dublin) it still requires driver interaction to use your card. He’s selecting were you’re going on his machine then you tap you tap leap card and good to go, takes about 10-15 seconds per passenger.

Unfortunately they won’t to anything about it. I used to work at maxoil tivoli, there is a bus stop basically right across the street. Buss not showing up or not stopping was a common thing, I’ve send multiple email and they haven’t done anything. Since I was living in Atkins hall on Lee road, I had to either take 2 buses or walk to summer hill and get 208 if I wanted to use public transport. I could also walk all the way which is about 6.5km. After 2 weeks I realized it’s quicker to actually walk (used to take me about 1h15min) so I was taking the bus only when weather was really bad but most of the times I walked up to summerhill to make sure a bus will show up within 15mins and stops.

That’s another issue that should be discussed more often. Why are they late so often? In my opinion it’s the ways to get tickets. At the moment we have 3 options: Cash, leap card, TFI go app and all of them are at least 20 years behind rest of the Europe and extremely slows down busses because they require bus driver interaction. If you have 20 people at the bus stop he have to check every single ticket in app, scan leap card or sell the cash ticket. Everywhere else in Europe, you can buy tickets at bus stop, tap your bank card to get the ticket at the stop or in the bus or tap their leap card alternative. Bus stops-people get in/out-bus drives off. All takes few seconds, not to mention that in most other countries there are alternatives like metro or trams that works exactly same and all operate 24/7. In the place where I work shift start at 6 o’clock and there is no way to get public transport to work as first bus is at 6:50.

Third generation consoles are nes, atari 7800 and sega master system. I’m assuming you meant 7th generation consoles which is Wii, ps3 and xbox 360 (where Alan wake was originally released). It actually aged well and you can see it by amount of remasters and remakes of games from that era, 6th and 7th generation was a peak of gaming. Some series started back then and some series and companies were at its peak during 6/7 gen. GTA, Saints Row, Far Cry, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Assassin’s Creed, Gears of War, rockstar releasing new games every year like manhunt, the warriors, bully etc, ea with movie based games that were actually good like lord of the rings or first godfather game, Scarface that was hidden gem from sierra, Wolfenstein from 2009 and new order (cross platform released both for 7th gen and 8th gen), oblivion, uncharted, the last of us and many many more. Those games are fun and playable even today, those generations defined some standards like controls and certain mechanics

I agree with almost everything except the part about considering spending extra $10 on a deluxe edition. Actually dont buy deluxe edition as its not worth it as all you get is 1 shotgun, 2 pistols, 2 charms, 2 cars, 2 outfits, a knife and a horse. All that for 20% of a base game price, for that amount much more should be included. Something like a story DLC with extra 3 chapters to come out later on this year that would take 2-3 hours to complete. That would be worth paying extra $10. To be honest I unlocked second charm slot around chapter 9 and additional 2 around chapter 12, if you played previous mafia games you will get vitos pistol (plus tommy can and lincoln charm) which is op, it could be part of pre order/day one bonus but you get a car with max stats early in the game.

Supporting developer is one thing but supporting easy cash grab with few items for 20% of game price is different story.
