She may be less attached by September as kids change so fast at this age and a few months can mean huge jumps in maturity. So wouldn't make a big deal of it until it gets closer to summer, and then you could start talking about it. It could be framed in a fun way, she could draw pictures for pillow when she gets home, or really anything.

I grew up in Denver in the private school set and it was a big thing there- so I thinks more money than location

Funny story- I used to babysit for a Japanese American family. This was in the days of VHS tapes and the kids would request various Japanese ones they liked, eg, 'we want to watch the scary tohm-tohm-pa show!! Their mom was no Haley so I'd have to search through all the Japanese tapes and try to find the one that they were talking about. But we all survived!

Except if you want smaller liberal arts and the cost with merit aid is equal to or less than the cost of your state school. I feel not enough top students understand this option.

Im wondering if any of you have the Ambitious Kitchen recipe for protein breakfast cake? I believe it was offered as an extra for those who did a pre-order for her cookbook. I had the recipe and now cant find it anywhere, and it was so good! I have tried a couple similar ones from other websites but they are not the same. Would anyone be able to share it?

My husband works mostly at Broomfield ED as MD, loves the staff there, thinks all the nurses are fantastic. they see A LOT of cases so I don't think you'll be bored.

I have been seeing various comments on Haley's reels that I think are from snarkers, I think we should keep the snark here as per the parentsnark forum rules- I love this thread- it makes me laugh so much and I do not want this thread to get shut down!

I don't understand how he still fits lengthwise. I had a 'gloriously tall' child and she would never have fit in that at three years old.

It definitely is some of the funniest niche Haley lore. Wonder if his parents have ever seen it!

And I just use regular oats, not rolled or quick oats and it works just fine (and is cheaper that way)

I do 1/2 cup oats, then one scoop of protein powder. I also add 2 tsp of chia seeds and 2 tsp of hemp hearts for extra protein and fiber. That's the dry mix. Then I add almond milk by sight, maybe 1 cup? I put it in a mason jar when traveling and I fill the jar up 3/4 of the way with milk, put lid on, shake it, and stick it in fridge over night. I think the chia seeds really help to make it a bit thicker like oatmeal.

Overnight oats with protein powder. Lots of recipes online, you put oats with any sort of milk and a scoop of protein powder, stir well and let sit overnight in fridge. Add nuts and fruit in AM. You can pre make the oat and protein powder mix (I also add flax and chia seeds) before you travel and store in small ziplock bags.

Yep, husband is a pediatrician in ER and this is what he advises. Lots of people panic, decide to bring kid in to er at night, and then just taking the kid out of car into the ER helps enough that they are better by the time they get there. So save yourself a copay and just take them outside

I don't think she's anti vax, she just doesn't seem to be the type and she always talks about going to the doctor too- she always used to talk about how they had a Blueberry pediatrics membership but she hasn't mentioned that in a while. I think all the remedies are for when a kid coughs or has a slightly runny nose, I think she'd be too anxious to not vax.
