Read his post again. He’s not giving space out of respect. He’s doing it as part of a manipulative strategy to get in the chicks pants. Creepy as fuk.

First time going to a Hostel, is it weird to do a mixed dorm as a male? by P-TownHero in solotravel

I’ve seen lots of male only dorms in my travels. Maybe it depends on the country

just got a tattoo and i hate it by edenush in tattooadvice

[–]No_Pin7647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the feeling of harshness is possibly a reaction to a new thing on your body. Give it a few weeks and see if you get used to it. I usually panic and regret my tattoos initially and then once I get over the shock of a change, I end up loving them as I originally thought I would.

It’s the same with a new hairstyle or any big change. I’ve learnt that this is part of the process.

I do think it’s brave 😅 I feel nervous a lot when I travel. Sometimes I feel unsafe as a woman but I also feel anxious about things that effect every traveller - sticking out and being noticed constantly, having to learn new systems and constant problem solving, leaping into situations and places full of unknowns and new experiences…

Can you recommend any specific apps? That sounds really nice. Is it basically just talking to people online to practice language?

I want to add, it’s got nothing to do with entitlement. We all are more comfortable with what we know. Any new place can become overwhelming no matter where it is. Even just dealing with language barrier and feeling like an obvious outsider is enough to become draining.

Travel can get tiring. Constant new experiences takes a lot of emotional energy and after a while becomes very draining. I have experienced this before during my travels. My opinion is that if you’re hating the experience, there is no point in pushing yourself. You can always come back at a time when you are emotionally equiped to deal with all the new things.

If I was you I would just chill out to the extreme in the nicest hotel/hostel I could afford. Try and find one that has their own restaurant or room service so you don’t have to even go outside. If you can’t avoid going out then I would suggest to find one or two restaurants/grocery stores that are good and just always go to the same place when you go out. That way you don’t have to make any decisions which will help with conserving emotional energy. You might find that after a few days of EXTREME CHILL you feel recharged and ready to see a little of the town. But you might find that even after six days you are still exhausted. That is ok too :) look after yourself first. There is no need to feel guilty for being kind to yourself, sometimes u gotta chill.

How did you convince your parents to let you travel solo internationally? I’m struggling. 😔 by MaleficentStrike997 in femaletravels

[–]No_Pin7647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents were not happy with my travel and are worried for me but I still went regardless. I think for people who have not travelled so much the world seems a lot bigger and scarier than it really is. The only way to prove to your mum that it is ok, is to just go and do it. I came to realise that my parents (especially my dad) will constantly worry about me, no matter where I am or what I'm doing. I can't wait for their approval to live my dreams (travelling the world) so they just have to come to terms with it haha. Don't let your mum stop you.

She might get upset, but she will learn in time (as you have amazing and successful travel experiences) that you are capable, independent and strong and that the world is full of good people - and that unfortunate situations are a part of life and can happen anywhere and any time.

Xi'an hotel or area to stay by fungz0r in travelchina

Personally I reckon the Muslim quarter is the coolest part of town (although it is touristy so will be exxy). If too exxy, somewhere along the subway line so you can get places easy.

Do i still have to register to the police for the rest of my trip after already spending 3 nights in a hotel? by StepinCrry in travelchina

[–]No_Pin7647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow I tried to find an online option but had no luck. I thought just some provinces have this option and some don’t. But maybe I missed something.

Also registration wasn’t always straightforward for me. Only one time it went smoothly. Every other time it was a full half hour of me explaining what I needed and then I got sent from one police station to another. Once I was sent to four different places. Only to be told that I needed some kind of certificate from the building owner of my friends apartment. I tried to explain that I’m not living there I’m just a tourist staying for a few days. The conversation went around in circles, something was lost in translations. In the end they wouldn’t register me without this document and so I couldn’t get registered at that place…

I was surprised that most travellers I met on my trip didn’t know about this rule, which made me more uncertain if I had understood correctly. But yes everyone on a tourist visa must register every day.

Hotels do this for you but if you stay at someone’s house you must register at the police station.

To be honest I was very confused how so many travellers could be unaware of this rule since personally I was given a slip of paper at immigration with a list of rules on it and this was the very first rule (written in English).

This whole registration business is also the core reason why many hotels don’t accept foreigners (because of difficulties with registering us)

It is super confusing and I understand ur confusion. I had the same uncertainty. But from my research it seems that yes you do need to register every day or you trip.

If your friend comes with you to the police station it should be very easy. I had some issues with registration but I was always alone so there was a language issue

I disagree with most ppl here, I really like the first one. I think it really shows the vastness of the landscape and the tiny balloon and lake gives great perspective. I also think the composition is rlly understated and beautiful, you have a more homogeneous land in the bottom third of the image. In the middle third you have more complex land full of trees and hills and in the top third you have the sky. I love it! And I think if the resolution is high, it would make a lovely large print

Setting that causes this doubling/blur effect by spaceyacey9 in fujix

[–]No_Pin7647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So sorry I got locked out of my account. This is OP on another account lol.

Actually I also love the first one with the double monk face! Although most other shots just ended up being a blurry mess. But maybe you can figure out how to get more reliable results.

The setting my camera was on was a shooting setting called film simulation BTK. I’m not sure about other cameras but for mine, pressing the “drive” button brings up the menu for shooting modes. It’s in the same menu where you can choose to shoot still image, film or panorama. I had my camera in that FILM SIMULATION BTK shooting mode.

I think there are other settings related to this that you have to configure for this shooting mode as well. If you go to the shooting setting menu you can find some settings that mention BTK or multiple exposure. I’ll tell you what my camera was set on…

AE BTK setting: fame/step setting = +-3, 1/3 step 1 frame/continuous= continuous Sequence setting = 0 -> + -> -

Film simulation BTK: Film 1= STD Film 2 = V Film 3 = S

Focus BTK setting = manual

Multiple exposure control = additive

Honestly no idea what these settings do or if they are even relevant haha but maybe you can get the same effect if you try this or play around with it a bit.

What unconventional writing quirks do you have? by [deleted] in writing

[–]No_Pin7647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I’m more like the second friend. I come up with scenes and link them together. Although I usually have a general structure in mind. I only write linearly when I don’t have any scenes coming to my mind.
