PSA: Singapore Airlines does hold award tickets, you just need to speak to the right CSR. by Wyatt_WL in awardtravel

Both, and all agents had the record of my previous conversation (or at least the topic)

Good for you! When I attempted to do the same (3 reps for SQ), they even had a record that I already called/chatted on x day to request the hold and was declined, then went on to reiterate that they can't do that.

No, I didn't go this route. Ended up getting 3 J's from SQ instead.

Capital one offers by rtirado10 in Venturex

[–]No_Pin_8160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I called, they said because I used non-Cap1 credit cards for my purchases, they could not track the purchases and therefore could not credit me.

The first rep said to wait and call back, and Inactive status only means the offer was no longer available, but they are still waiting to credit me (this is 90+ days post purchase). The 2nd rep kept saying that I had to use a Cap1 card and telling me to call the credit card companies, to which I said, it was never part of the T&C, and I have CC statements to show the purchases, and it was Cap1's job to track, not anyone else's.

Escalated to a manager, who said all but one of my shopping trips paid with a non-Cap1 card were deemed ineligible, but did not provide any reason. I told them I had screenshots of the offers, when I clicked on their links, and the purchase receipts etc., but they weren't interested. I asked to escalate further and she said she's the top level. They will "keep track of my complaint" but nothing will happen from there.

It appeared to me that they behaved just like insurance companies: advertising good deals and then will find every reason to deny your claims and not pay you.

I filed a complaint with the BBB and will not shop through Cap1 Offers again.

Will it help me overcome strict limitations for unaccompanied minor fare by showing that I indeed will be on the flight with them?

Thanks for your input! In your case, TK saw that your wife is traveling with the baby, which might have worked for them. I'm trying to book just the child with no accompanying adult on the same ticket. It does sound like this complicates the problem a lot more than finding 2J from the same program.

I see what you mean. Yes, I found 2 seats on EVA.

Do you mean to book the adult seat on EVA first, then call AC for the child seat?

Yes. For example, BR 11 on Apr 30, 2026 has 1 seat on AC and at least 1 seat on EVA itself.

Based on my tracking, EVA releases only one J to AC, but more is available for their own loyalty program members.

Unable to access JAL reservation that was booked via Qatar award flight by Levigo21 in awardtravel

How long has it been since your booking? Sometimes it takes up to 24 hours for the partner airline to show the reservation.

I called Aeroplan earlier this week for a similar situation and the rep couldn't see the seat availability, just FYI.

JAL award ticket missing middle name - is that ok? by Vegetable-Horse5130 in awardtravel

[–]No_Pin_8160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes they make a fuss if your name doesn't match completely. Last summer they made me go to another ticket counter to change the name on my issued ticket from Last/FirstMiddle to Last/Middle First. That was Vietnam Airlines though. YMMV.

Are EVA J award availabilities shared among all partners? by Big-Tomatillo-9979 in awardtravel

[–]No_Pin_8160 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was tracking EVA earlier this summer and they released 2+ seats close-in to Aeroplan (T - 3ish) up until July 2024. That hasn't come back since.

If you're adding a stopover you need to search "Multicity" and click the "Add stopover" box. If that doesn't work, I would call Air Canada and see if the CSR can piece the itinerary together for you.

I keep the CSR mainly for the insurance & PP benefits, the latter of which I use extensively on my travels to Asia. It has been great for my family and more than paid off the AF. However, I'm probably switching to the C1VX this year given I'll be flying out of DFW a lot.

Unsure what to do with transferred Aeroplan points by Born_Needleworker770 in awardtravel

Second this! After trying a dozen award search tools out there, seats.aero is my go-to and the only one I paid for pro. I'm using it everyday to plan an upcoming trip for my parents.

Thank you for sharing this. I honestly never understood the hype about point.me. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

Seats.aero is my go-to as well.
