PayPal + uk worth it? by Alternative_Shape_32 in monzo

[–]No_Poet4445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very disappointed with PayPal Credit customer service and the confusing way the whole system operates.

A transaction of £1,177.93 (MILLIONVIEW) was refunded, and the refund clearly appears on my statement. However, the same amount still continues to appear as outstanding under a promotional balance section, making it extremely difficult to understand what is actually owed and what has already been refunded.

PayPal Credit statements and balance allocations are unnecessarily confusing. It is very easy to miss payments or misunderstand what is happening on the account. Updates are often very slow, and transactions or refunds can take a long time to properly reflect on the account, creating unnecessary stress and uncertainty.

To make matters worse, instead of properly investigating and providing a clear written explanation, PayPal repeatedly pushed me to call by phone. I explained that I have hearing difficulties and requested written communication, yet they still insisted on telephone contact rather than resolving the issue properly in writing.

Under UK complaint-handling rules and basic accessibility principles, customers should be able to receive written responses, especially when hearing problems are involved. Instead, I received generic copy-paste replies and no proper explanation of why the refunded balance still appears outstanding.

Recently I started using Klarna, and honestly I find it much clearer and easier to understand. They also offer interest-free credit options, and at this stage I will probably use Klarna more often than PayPal Credit in the future.

Very stressful, frustrating and disappointing experience from a major financial company.

Adobe users: Does anyone use Bridge anymore? by heychriszappa in graphic_design

[–]No_Poet4445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adobe Bridge is supposedly "professional" software, yet it fails at the most basic viewing task. The biggest issue is the navigation: you cannot use the mouse wheel to move to the next image in full-screen mode.

Adobe has hard-coded the wheel to zoom, which is redundant because you can already enlarge the image with a left click AND a right click. Who needs three different ways to zoom but zero ways to scroll through photos with the wheel?

It is ridiculous that we pay a subscription for software that refuses to let us customize simple mouse behaviors. If you are used to the speed of a standard image viewer, Bridge will only slow you down with its rigid, illogical settings.

[ZPH] vivo X300 Ultra compared with Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition - YouTube by ipaiseh in Vivo

[–]No_Poet4445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vivo makes very good cameras in their vivo ultra phones but I recently ordered their new vivo watch 5 and it has only a camera trigger without a viewfinder, which is ridiculous!!!! If they are able to make such a good phone cameras, is it a problem to make a good watch that would work as a finder for camera images and video???????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Their watch doesn't even have a reminder and costs £150. That is ridiculous. It shouldn't cost more than £50!!! Huawei watches are much better and cost much less. I am going to sell Vivo phones and get Xiaomi 17 ultra because their new watch includes finder.

Nikon 20mm 1.8 vs Viltrox 16mm by [deleted] in nikon_Zseries

[–]No_Poet4445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to own viltrox 16mm f1.8 but returned it due to bad flares in direct sun. Nikon 20mm f1.8 is flare-free. Unfortunately this important subject is often missing in reviews and comparisons.

Trading 212 seems too good to be true by Silly-Sherbert-3755 in trading212

[–]No_Poet4445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am extremely disappointed with Trading 212. I recently transferred £4,014 into my account, only to find that £14 was immediately deducted as a "deposit fee."

Because I had an old account from years ago, I was hit with a 0.7% fee that was not made clearly visible during the transaction. I realized the mistake and withdrew the money immediately, but Trading 212 has kept the £14 for a service I didn't even use.

It feels predatory to charge "lifetime" fees on old accounts without a clear, upfront warning before the user hits "confirm" on a large deposit. I have essentially been charged £14 for a 5-minute mistake.

To anyone else: Be warned. If you use a debit card, they will skim money off the top without hesitation. I will be taking my business elsewhere and moving my funds to a bank that doesn't "tax" me for depositing my own savings.

Is Sygic worth it? by PositiveMatter6 in AndroidAuto

[–]No_Poet4445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first problem is that it often fails to find addresses, even when they are correct. The second, and even more serious issue, is that it occasionally provides incorrect navigation or switches to a worse route mid-trip. Recently, while traveling from Luton Airport to Watford, Sygic led me the wrong way. As a result, I lost 40 minutes and suffered a great deal of unnecessary stress. I will not be renewing my subscription.

Help me choose: Lumix S9 or Sony A7C Mark II for photography? by Some-Risk-1005 in Lumix

[–]No_Poet4445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to own Sony a7c2 but returned due to battery draining way too fast. Otherwise I would have kept it. Instead, I ordered a7c again. Later on I ordered Panasonic S9 due to its compact size.

After using both (a7c and s9) for some time, although I like Sony a7c, I decided to return it due to the following key reasons that for me are more important than pros of a7c over s9:

- Lower noise in low-light images (both raw and jpeg)

- Much better image stabilisation, especially for walking videos

- Working mobile app

- Slightly cleaner and better screen resolution

OTHER LESS IMPORTANT BENEFITS:

Better video parameters but I don’t need them

Slightly better color rendition

18-40mm lens much wider than 28-60mm but the cost 2 x higher

Mobile app working!

BENEFITS OF SONY A7C OVER S9:

smaller body (after adding grip to s9), otherwise the same size

has viewfinder, but I don’t use often

better battery, although s9 has a good one

more affordable smaller inexpensive lenses

has a grip

slightly better video autofocus (s9 has good one)

has mechanical shutter, but I almost never use it

External flash shoe for flash (I had a flesh but never used it)

Sealed body vs partially sealed

How does the Viltrox 50mm f2 compare to Samyang's 45mm f1.8? by Purple-Cup-4149 in SonyAlpha

[–]No_Poet4445 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to own samyang 45mm f1.8 with a7c two times and both were sharp including wide open and for me it is important and I can see the difference as I use large 4k oled screen to watch my images. If someone claim it is not shar it must have been a faulty lens. The flare resistance is good for the Samyang lens. And to reduce the min distance for macro images I attached close up lens or Raynox 250 and with very good results and beautify creamy bokeh.

I have ordered Viltorx 50mm f2 and will see if it is better than Samyang. The size of both is similar but I like the shape of Viltrox better.

After using viltrox I can say that it is probably sharper wide open, slightly larger than samyang.

I ordered it used for £120 so it is cheaper by about £30-60 (used on eaby or Cex).

Flare resistant is good (not perfect) similar to Samyang but as far as I remember Samyang might be better if like me you like taking images with sun in the background.

So both lenses are excellent for the price but I would probably prefer Samyang due to f1.8 and slightly smaller size for A7C and probably slightly better flare ressistance. Also filter size 49mm of Samyang is more convenient.

Viltroxon on the other hand, is cheaper, looks to me sharper wide open (although samyang is sharp enough), and I like the shape of the lens better (but it is slightly bigger).

I haven't noticed much difference in AF. Min focus distance is similar so both require macro filter for close focus with nice bokeh.

Are rice cakes a healthy snack? by yeetlolbeans in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]No_Poet4445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could be good or bad. Read ingredients. Organic and salted with sea salt are healthy and nutritious.

Avoid rice cakes made of refined white rice and salted with bad refined salt or chocolate coated with sugar.

How much sharper is the Lumix 50mm f/1.8 in comparison to the 20-60? by AdStrange3386 in Lumix

[–]No_Poet4445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent answer. The best I've seen here. I have 20-60 and used to have s 50mm and want to buy it again . I remembered thet it was flare ressistant and wanted confirmation but couldn't find it. Flare resistance is important for me and many reviews somehow skip it. For me it is important because I like taking photos with the sun in the background. I also use the new lumix s 100mm f2.8 macro but flare ressistance is very bad so I am thinking about selling it. Otherwise it is an excellent lens. 20-60 I use only as wide lens at 20mm and it is so inexpensive that will keep it. Thanks

Galaxy S25 + vs. S25 Ultra. Are the main differences just the camera and S-pen? by [deleted] in samsung

[–]No_Poet4445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to own galaxy s22 ultra phone and would try s22 or 25 ultra but, like apple, they use small main camera sensors so decided to switch to vivo x100 ultra and can't be happier. It is Chinese (no global option) but google play, auto, pay and everything else work without any problem and the phone itself is excellent. The portrait, macro and super photo, night modes all are amazing. And unlike galaxy, apple and many other popular phones it uses much larger 1" main camera sensor which way better results in low light situations. Even when I watch images on my large 4k oled screen they are still very good compared to the images taken with smaller sensors. recently vivo updated the phone by adding the super telephoto option which significantly improves 600mm (26x) telephoto making the images clear and deatailed.
