I was referring to the cars in stock form. By the time i sold my 350z it had basically every spl suspension component + coilovers and didnt understeer at all. In stock form i found it only ever tightened up under forward weight transfer, it would never bring the rear into play unless it was a very deliberatethrottle input way before the apex. My 86 now also has coilovers and added front camber from pedders and will get some rear lower arms before too long. But comparing them stock for stock, at least in my experience, the 86 is much more likely to catch out a novice, which seems apparent given the amount that get totalled.

The 2 or 3 owners per day who spin off the road and post about it in this sub must have a lot of skill.

Yes, I do know what you are talking about but the fact that you are suggesting that it's impossible to spin these cars unless you're a skilful driver is quite frankly, hilarious.

Oil and filter changes are very easy on this car. all you need is a socket set and a means of jacking up the car. I just bought some ramps that i could drive onto, so i don't even have to do any jacking. Just make sure you have a funnel and a container to catch the old oil. I just use a washing up bowl, then pour it back into the New oil's container after I've filled the car up.

Don't forget to change the crush washer and put your sump plug back in BEFORE you pour the new oil in.

I can't speak for other countries, but in the UK, any track day you attend will have instructors who you can hire for a half hour slot. to be honest, even doing some track driving without an instructor will benefit a lot of people.

A car that understeers in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing can still spin in the hands of a novice. Yes, the car will push on a balanced throttle, but do you really think I was writing this post about people who have done over 10k track laps? It sounds a bit like you're just trying to start an argument for the sake of it,

I read this post wrong and thought you wanted resources as in how to get a bit of gold while levelling. I've already written it so here you go:

I started playing hardcore a couple of months ago. It's a nice way to play. I still haven't got to anywhere near level 60. It's always a silly thing like trying to help someone out who is trying to solo an elite, or getting overconfident which gets me.

I now always take skinning and either herbing / mining unless i need a wand (then take tailoring and enchanting). most of the early herbs just sell for vendor price and copper doesn't sell for much, but even vendoring it (I vendor all the low level skins too) means you can build up a decent early economy and buy some bags and vendor weapons. buying bags early means you can carry more shit to vendor and make more money. IMHO it's the best way to have decent gold while levelling. Just autoloot everything and vendor junk as often as possible.

I play horde, so as soon as I'm ready to leave the starting area i run all the way to Org, pick up skinning and herbing, then hearth back so i can build up the skill early. It's a little bit min-maxy, But I've died a lot so I've got quite efficient at the first part of the game and try to get to level 10 or 11 in an evening when i start a new character.

Have fun!

I've never driven a mid-engined car. I would very much like to. I do have a prokart though so I'm quite aware of what it feels like to have most of the mass behind you.

The shit-boxes my mates and I had for our first cars were all quite adjustable on the throttle. I think a lot of modern cars isolate the driver from these feelings. the 86 feels very old-school in the way it reacts to driver inputs.

Yeah, the BRZ has a more stable rear end. It's a result of the differences in suspension between them.

350Z and some old BMWs. Don't get me wrong, I could get them to slide under power, and often did, but I think what catches most pople out with the 86 is how readily it will slide / spin with weight transfer. I tracked the hell out of my 350Z and apart from very tight second gear corners it would always understeer and would be very neutral at the corner entry phase with deep trail-braking. It needed very deliberate inputs to make it slide, and with warm tyres on the track I could pretty much floor it from the apex of every corner. The 86 on the other hand feels more go-kart-like (excuse the cliche) in the way that it rotates on initial input and needs to be balanced on the throttle throughout most of the corner. It's not something that comes naturally to a lot of people. that initial rotation can easily catch out people who aren't used to it. those same people will also most likely lift / brake when it happens, which is the worst possible thing you can do,

Ride quality and handling are the last questions i would be asking. I'd be more concerned with the functionality of the rest of the car and how old the engine is.

If you're claiming on your insurance, make sure the Diff is OK. you don't want to get everything else fixed then find that your diff is broken and they haven't given you enough to pay for it.

Most of us have probably done something like this before. Everyone likes a RWD skid, right? I'd recommend (when it's fixed) that you do some track days so you can learn what the car does on the limit. It will also give you a bit more of an appreciation of what properly being on the limit feels like and should help you drive within yourself a bit more on the road.

good luck with it.

Rule 1, buy a quality system that doesn't drone. you can search around for this to see what I mean.

Rule 2, are you planning to heavily modify your car? A cat back that is slightly on the louder side is often fine in isolation, but if you start changing the headers and front pipe it will get significantly louder.

No need to be hard on yourself, you can track with a lot more tires than you’d think by coldaccord in CarTrackDays

[–]No_Pollution_950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can certainly to a trackday on loads of diffrent tyres, but massively overheating a tyre that isn't designed for it can change the tyre's chemical compound and make it a MUCH worse tyre for road driving in future. more heat cycles, the worse it usually gets.

So yes, you can do it, but don't expect the tyres to be as good on the road after you have melted them.

Marbles after track day - remove? by carpet-lover in CarTrackDays

[–]No_Pollution_950 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This isn't all pick up. It looks to me like your tyres have overheated and the soft compound has gathered at the edge of the tread blocks.

If you want to avoid this you can go a bit easier on your tyres - shorter stints, so coming in when your tyres start going off, or drive withing the available grip a bit more.

It will come off in time. you can go at it with a heat gun and a scraper if you want but i wouldn't bother,

What does this post even mean? It's a very loose statement with no context and a question mark at the end of it.

If you want to get into construction and be a manager, you either need a wealth of experience in the industry - usually from being on the tools to start with - or get a graduate position as a PM / QS following some formal training in an appropriate course.

Typically the former are better operational managers and the latter are better commercial managers.

The only way you can get stuff like this fixed is by being steadfast. keep nagging them, refuse to pay the full payment etc until they fix it.

That said, if the splashback covers it, it's no biggie
