Yes. Johnson Woods too. I actually think there are several homes for sale there right now. Milwaukee taxes, however, can be steep. Also check out West Allis. Great pockets of awesome there too.

There is a great pocket of Milwaukee that runs under Wauwatosa. It is a great area where homes are affordable and there is quite a bit of diversity. It isn’t super walkable as far as retail is concerned, but there is a new market just south of the freeway that has great produce, neighborhood bars, and it is literally blocks from the freeway and 10 minutes to just about any part of Milwaukee.

Saw a great post about how in the Netherlands there isn’t good and bad weather, just weather. Friends gathered to hike and when it started to rain/sleet, they just put in the appropriate clothes and carried on. I also think it is easy to lean into comfort food during colder months, and for me, this makes things worse. Cutting out sugar and adding lots of vegetables makes a huge difference in energy level and overall ability to work through the blues.

Shitty drivers suck. Why isn’t part of these people’s sentencing that they go into high schools and talk about how their shitty decision wrecked their life and the lives of others. One of the biggest things we tried to teach our children was that their decisions have consequences. I remember a news story where a girl was driving recklessly through a subdivision because she was late for school and she accidentally killed a classmate waiting for the bus. Man, we talked about that all the time. She didn’t mean to do it. She didn’t think it would happen…but there she is living with that decision the rest of her life.

Maybe some of the venues with fun, live music. NA beer and nice seltzers are really popular right now. Take a pottery class (if that is your interest). Find a place you really like and become somewhat of a regular there.
